Committee approves bill naming 'Mount Reagan' in Nevada

A Republican congressman got a step closer to naming a Nevada peak after the late President Ronald Reagan, after a House committee approved the idea on Wednesday.

**SNIP**

Rep. Jared Huffman, D-Calif., said he thought DeFazio's amendment was "terrific" but wanted to take it a step further and name the planet after Reagan. ...Huffman said his reasoning was that if the planet were named after Reagan, then Republicans might be more concerned with taking up legislation dealing with global warming.

How about we take a page out of the liberal progressive playbook.

Yes, lets name the planet Reagan and we promise to be more concerning about global warning in the future. (wink, wink)

Google shows a graded dirt road leading up to Frenchman Mountain and past to the next peak.

There are some sort of buildings on Frenchman Mountain and the other peak.

Obviously something to do with Area 51 where I imagine some of the SDI/"Star Wars" work was done.

So Frenchman Mountain DOES have something to do with the work that Reagan did while in office.

Well, Ok then.

They opened the debate, right?

Recall this (George W Bush Sewage Treatment Plant proposal by San Franciscans in ‘08)

http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/story?id=5428594&page=1

“McConnell likened the use of satire to editorial cartoons, explaining that comedy has helped spark discussion around serious issues since the Revolutionary War.”

It’s time for an open thread on how best to remember the 44th POtuS...ya know, to “help spark discussion on serious issues”...

Sounds like a good nickname for Reagan: The Great Unconformist

Also sounds like a particularly good topic for Coast-to-Coast or Art Bell.
