After taking heat from some of its own over a decision to grant an honorary degree to an advocate for Muslim women who has made comments critical of Islam, Brandeis University withdrew the honor Tuesday night.
The university said that Somali-born Ayaan Hirsi Ali would no longer receive the honorary degree, which it had planned to award her at the May 18 commencement.

Funny how the same school had no problem giving the same award to a known Jew Hater
Wow! She’s the real deal.
Her book, ‘Infidel’ is pure genius. I read it in one sitting.
She is a woman of pure courage.
Stand up to the muzzies, everybody! Unlike the wusses at Brandeis, the once-proud Jewish institution of higher learning.
The female students are happy about this.
(I rewrote the article to put in context what they did)
Brandeis University in Massachusetts announced Tuesday that it had withdrawn the planned awarding of an honorary degree to Frederick Douglass, a staunch critic of slavery and its treatment of blacks, after protests from students and faculty.
He is a compelling public figure and opponent to slavery, and we respect and appreciate his work to protect and defend the rights of slaves throughout the world, said the universitys statement. That said, we cannot overlook certain of his past statements that are inconsistent with Brandeis Universitys core values.
More than 85 pro-slavery of about 350 faculty members at Brandeis signed a letter asking for Douglass to be removed from the list of honorary degree recipients. And an online petition created Monday by students at the school of 5,800 had gathered thousands of signatures from inside and outside the university as of Tuesday afternoon.
This is a real slap in the face to southern students, said senior Calvin Candie, a member of the Anti-Negro League, who created the petition said before the university withdrew the honor.
But its not just the southern community that is upset but all pro-slavery students and faculty, she said. A university that prides itself on the quality of its chattels and the right to property should not hold up someone who is an outright abolitionist.
But George Fitzhugh, a spokesman for the Council on Promulgation of Involuntary Servitude, the nations largest slavery advocacy group, said, It is unconscionable that such a prestigious university would honor someone with such openly hateful views.
The biggest supporters of Israel are the most repulsive members of the Jewish community” - Tony Kushner Brandeis University honorary degree recipient.
>Stand up to the muzzies, everybody!<
Unless our congresscritters get the message, nothing will happen and Islam will just continue its defilement of America.
The high school I went to was predominantly Jewish. I was sitting across from an upper classman in study hall and she was looking at Brandeis info for applying to schools. I asked about the school. She said ‘it’s a good school but mostly Jewish (I am not). She said I probably wouldn’t be interested in it........WHAT HAPPENED??? A mostly Jewish college that favors non-Jews???
This ain't your mamma's Brandeis, apparently. I'm sure Justice Louis Brandeis, for whom the University was named, must be spinning in his grave over what a schtick dreck this institution has become!
What in the world is that picture supposed to be?? I can’t make it out.
Stealth Jihad ....it’s working.
The tiny one at the bottom?
The school “leaders” had to decide which would be worse: a) looking like nitwits for giving in to implied violence, or b) showing the world what nitwits their violent students would be. They chose to look like cowering nitwits with no spine.
What does NOW have to say about this?
No, the big one, advertising something on Wednesday, November 7th.
