Russia will respond only to increased sanctions over Ukraine ^ | April 09, 2014 | Editorial Board

FOR NEARLY three weeks after announcing the annexation of Crimea, Vladi­mir Putin held off on further dismemberment of Ukraine. No doubt he was measuring the West’s reaction to the first forcible change of borders in Europe since 1945. Apparently, he wasn’t impressed — and given U.S. and European inertia, why would he have been?

...It’s worth asking whether Mr. Putin would have launched his latest provocation if the United States had continued to raise the pressure on the Russian economy in the weeks since the last measures were unveiled on March 20.

It’s not too late to prevent Russia from destroying Ukraine, but this time the West must act quickly.

Russia has more or less free reign to do whatever she wants now. There is no US government looking out for the interests of the US and her ineterests now.

Russia can reactivate her USSR schemes and power grabs without any real or serious Western interference.

President Obama’s RESET, SOFTPOWER and WEAKEN ALLIES doctrines crippled the West and the US can't even send an astronaut into space to the ISS without Putin's approval.

Obama is backed into a corner he painted and all of us are eating crow.

Even our staunchest, most stable and most reliable ally, Israel is dumbfounded by Obama and Kerry's follies and inability to read reality all over the planet. Iran is spinning those centrifuges...
