Nancy Pelosi: I'd Rather Pass Amnesty than Be Speaker
breitbart.com ^ | 4/9/14 | Tony Lee

Posted on 04/10/2014 5:25:38 AM PDT by cotton1706

Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said she would rather pass amnesty legislation than get her gavel back.

“It’s the biggest thing that we can do, and that’s why I’ve said to the speaker, to the press, to these groups, I would rather pass [a] comprehensive immigration reform bill than win the elections in November,” Pelosi told Politico. “There’s nothing we could accomplish in winning that would be as big as passing immigration reform.”

Politico noted that Pelosi has been traveling the country promoting immigration reform legislation and said she hoped a bill could pass by June or July. She ruled out the possibility of amnesty legislation being passed during the lame-duck session of Congress after the midterm elections.

Democrats have circulated a discharge petition for their bill, which is the Senate's bill that the Congressional Budget Office determined would lower the wages of American workers with less stringent border security provisions, but it has failed to get the 218 signatures needed to force a vote.

Other Democrats like Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-IL) have indicated that this year was the last chance to pass broad amnesty legislation.

Minority Madam Pelosi (Dimwit-CA) also said that amnesty legislation would pass by June if it passes this year at all. Vote-crazed Dems are desperate----the clock is ticking ---- 2014 looms and the votes aren't there for the lock-stepping party loyalists.

AMNESTY PROTECTION RACKET The venal amnesty bill protects corrupt Latino Public Officials from US laws and from prosecution. Vote-crazed Dems suckup---amnesty absolves elected/appointed latinos holding US public office from prosecution for wrongdoing---for crimes like government fraud, graft, bribery, selling votes for cash....(the usual politician crimes).

There really is a Ntl Assoc of Latino Elected and Appt Officials organized for govt fraud.

Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-IL) indicated that this was the last chance to pass broad amnesty legislation.

This guy is desperate---he needs to hide behind amnesty---b/c it absolves elected (and appointed) latinos holding US public office from prosecution for wrongdoing.

==========================================

GUTIERREZ UNDER FEDERAL INVESTIGATION Authorities have obtained Gutierrez's July 7, 2004, letter to then-Chicago Mayor Daley -- written on U.S. House stationery -- as part of their grand jury investigation into how zoning works inside City Hall, sources told the Tribune.

Gutierrez said there is no connection between the loan and his letter of support for the Galewood Yards project, which is not in his district. In a written statement, the congressman said his involvement was "extremely minimal" and "entirely appropriate."He said he has not been contacted by federal authorities.

The federal investigation comes as the Chi/Tribune's "Neighborhoods for Sale" series documents an insiders' game in which politicians rake in millions in campaign cash from developers and other real estate interests while often overriding concerns of homeowners and city planners. It is a system that has fundamentally reshaped the character of city neighborhoods.

Calvin Boender, the developer of the Galewood Yards project, has been a longtime campaign donor to Gutierrez and a major contributor to Ald. Isaac Carothers (29th). As part of their investigation, federal authorities have subpoenaed city records related to Boender's project and three others that Carothers backed in his West Side ward.

Gutierrez, an eight-term Democrat, was elected to Congress in 1992 and is seeking re-election in November against little-known Republican and Green Party challengers. Boender did not return messages requesting an interview.

Gutierrez sent the letter of support after buying a vacant lot from Boender at 1007 W. Fulton St. with the help of a $200,000 loan from him. The congressman provided the Tribune with bank documents stating he repaid the loan at an above-market interest rate.

It is not unusual for one party to lend the other money to complete a land deal, Gutierrez said, adding he got no unfair financial advantage and actually lost money in the 2004 investment. He praised Boender as a reputable businessman."I know him and I know his good work," Gutierrez said.

Over the years, Gutierrez has enjoyed a close relationship with several developers. He has entered into real estate deals with them, and they have helped finance his re-elections.Gutierrez said there is nothing wrong with such relationships, in part because he has never used his public position to help developers who do business with him. In an interview last year, Gutierrez emphasized that he never gets involved in local zoning matters.

"One of the reasons that we're very careful about our real estate investments is that I don't have anything to do with zoning changes. I don't write letters of recommendation; I don't have a vote on the zoning committee. ... I've done nothing using my official capacity as a [congressman]," Gutierrez said.

While many of the things she says would indicate that she is insane, once in a while her machiavellian lucidity peeps through.

She is planning long-term, like all the totalitarian statists.

Nancy Pelosi is a very shrewd pragmatist, as are Harry Reid and Alan Grayson.

The deranged utterances they sputter from time to time are only made to appeal to the core of demonRAT voters. The fact that such out-of-whack droolings resonates with their base shows you just how base their base is.

Here she exposes her calculus by revealing that, while pushing amnesty through now might cost them the Senate and even the presidency in the short-term, amnesty will introduce as many as 30 million new demonRAT voters to the electorate. And that’s if they only vote once per election.

At that point, the USA becomes Venezuela.

The reason we are having these issues and problems is that our laws aren't being followed by the very people who wrote them and who swore an oath to uphold them.

She'd rather pass amnesty?!?

I'd rather charge, prosecute and jail those elected and appointed officials who purposefully didn't enforce current immigration law, who purposefully refused to enforce our borders as required by the US Constitution, and who conspired with or encouraged others to do the same, as with the many "sanctuary cities" and the federal programs to grant housing loans to illegal aliens and the wide variety of social and educational programs.

Many of these elected and appointed officials and their programs put illegals ahead of the tax paying citizens who pay their salaries and pay for these programs only to then have to compete for jobs and the benefits they're paying for with those who shouldn't even be here!

This isn't compassion, it's criminal insanity!

Charge, prosecute and jail those of US who are tearing US apart from the inside and enforce our border first, then clean up whatever mess they've left behind.

Nasty Nancy is oh so noble, isn't she?
The supremely egocentric Frisco mental lightweight claims she would prefer one last thrust, perhaps the fatal one, into the traditional American way of life above her own desire for power and control.
For the rest of her days Na卐i Peloϟϟi will not be in position to be Speaker as her party will be in the minority in the House so she can shoot her mouth off like this without carrying any weight.

“broad amnesty legislation”
Exactly. It is unusual to see those words in print but you never hear insects like Pelosi or McCain use the ‘A’ word.
If Miss Lube Rack and her partners in crime were ever to succeed (like Obamacare: “It’s affordable, it’s private!”) they would make it clear that “reform” is in fact what we have been saying it is all along: amnesty. (Surprise surprise.)
We would hear nothing more about fines and the other things newly minted citizens were expected to do as conditions of passing “comprehensive. immigration reform” or they would be given short shrift, unenforced as rules usually don’t apply to Democrats.
As you point out, we don’t hear them using the actual word, that is, what it really is—a pardon and reward of citizenship. The siren song is, ‘The system is broken. We need CIR. Reform, reform, reform ...’ droning on-and-on. All they want is amnesty. Period.
