Actually, I find this stupid. Deportation should be less of a hit or miss affair. Illegal aliens who repeatedly drive drunk are not deported; Obama’s Auntie stayed here and got medical care for the balance of her worthless life. This is small potatoes.

Worse — IF the victim didn’t know they were laced, it is also felony assault and probably a slew of other charges.
Even if the purchaser knew it was laced, the perp is criminally negligent which is also assault.

Food tampering is a very serious felony. If the kid had died instead of just getting sick this would be a capital murder case. It should be treated as nothing less than attempted murder. Violent felonies are an automatic deportation event.

Maybe that will work against her. Her family followed the rules. If she had been here illegally, then maybe they might show her mercy and let her stay. Letting illegals stay is an act of love. Deporting legal immigrants is a matter of policy.
