OMB Leadership Sylvia Mathews Burwell, Director
Sylvia Mathews Burwell is the Director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). She was confirmed by the Senate on April 24, 2013. Burwell previously served as President of the Walmart Foundation. Before joining the Foundation in 2012, she was President of the Global Development Program at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, where she worked for 10 years and was also the first Chief Operating Officer. During the Clinton Administration she served as Deputy Director of OMB, Deputy Chief of Staff to the President, Chief of Staff to the Secretary of the Treasury, and Staff Director of the National Economic Council. Before her Federal government service, she worked for McKinsey & Company. Burwell served on the Board of the Council on Foreign Relations and MetLife. She received an A.B. from Harvard University and a B.A. from Oxford University, where she was a Rhodes Scholar. Burwell hails from Hinton, West Virginia. She and her husband Stephen live in Washington, DC with their two children.
She looks like Wasserman Shulz..
does this new post require senate confirm?
Does Obama have “binders full of women” with that angry ugly mug look???
Probably, does it matter? The Senate rubber stamps all Obama appointments.
I suspect so. One of Dingy's "Senior Advisers" of just 3 years ago was confirmed this week to be the Director of the BLM (to allow the BLM to continue to run rough-shod over Nevada.)
A career hack. No surprise.
the only foundations she is not linked to are Maidenform and Playtex
Zero experience in the real world.
Senate confirmation is required but, given Reid’s new ‘nuclear option’ filibuster rules, an appointment like this will require only 51 votes rather than the former 60.
So she is in, no matter the phony battles, drama and histrionics which Republicans will inevitably play the fool.
You may be correct, but her history at McKinsey could show she was in the very top percentile of those who could straighten out business issues.
I have to admit, I overlooked that, concentrating on her government and charitable foundation experience.
Don't be so sure, check the look on BJ's face
iS THAT ERIC CANTOR???HA.
Jacob (Jack) Lew
current Treasury Sec.
She was neck deep in the idiocy that happened in the Gvt shutdown. Like the barricading of the WWII memorial.
Her confirmation hearings could be the second offa one-two punch (the first being Lois Lerner) showing the deep infiltration and manipulation for political purposes of the bureaucracy by the Democrats.
One of the conditions of mac daddies support is that she shares her wardrobe with him.
