The standoff between a Nevada rancher and the U.S. government escalated Wednesday when protesters confronted federal agents tasked with the chore of rounding up approximately 900 “trespass cattle.”

The confrontation, captured on video, resulted in one protester, the rancher’s son, being hit with a stun gun while another, the rancher’s daughter, was pushed to the ground. One woman said federal officials struck her with their vehicle.

On the five, they said this rancher hasn’t paid his grazing fees in over 20 yrs? So in essence he’s breaking the law?

I believe I have read that they stopped allowing him to pay those fees since 1993. They were trying to run his ranch out of business, if so.

One day there will be a spark and rebellion will break out against the state. This is probably not it because of the isolated location and the ambiguity over the legal right to the acreage, but police state tactics are going to cause general rebellion at some point.

This isn’t about legal equities. It’s about telling the Fed’s to leave us alone.

Get out of our lives!

Good points. Ruby Ridge and Waco were isolated sites also.

http://www.rfdtv.com/story/25206377/oklahoma-texas-border-dispute-has-ranchers-worried
April 10, 2014

BYERS, Texas (RFD-TV) Most people think the border between Texas and Oklahoma is the Red River. Unfortunately, it’s a little more complicated than that, especially along the part of the river where Tommy Henderson and his family ranch.
Henderson lost a lawsuit 30 years ago that moved part of the northern Texas border over a mile to the south.

The Bureau of Land Management [BLM] took 140 acres of his property and didn’t pay him one cent.

Now, they want to use his case as precedent to seize land along a 116-mile stretch of the river.

“They’re wanting to take the boundaries that the courts placed here and extend those east and west to the forks of the river north of Vernon and east to the 98th Meridian which is about 20 miles east of us,” Henderson explained.

BLM, which oversees public land in the United States, claims this land never belonged to Texas.

The Texas landowners who have lived and cared for that land for hundreds of years beg to differ.

BLM plans on taking the land anyway. Property owners will be forced to spend money on lawsuits to keep what is theirs.

For many, that property has been in their family for generations.”

BLM out of control

It was my understanding the ranch belonged to the rancher’s family since the 19th century.

This is why all these federal agencies have their own military style forces.

As I understand it his family had been grazing cattle on that land for 100+ years. In 1993 the feds decided some tortise or some such was endangered. So as "incentive" to get ranchers to stop grazing there they started charging a fee. This rancher told them to bugger off.

No. He doesn’t own it in the sense of having a deed or anything - he says his family’s herds have been grazing on it.

I think his family has been paying grazing fees for 50 years and he stopped.

We’re not getting the entire story - the reporting has been fairly atrocious.

You got that right. Dogs, tasers, tosses them off. I've met a couple of guys like that through the years. You don't screw around with them, but there are no better friends to have at your back in a fight.

These Jack Booted Thugs need to have their clocks cleaned.

Yeah. Too bad there wasn't someone up on that ridge in the background... Just sayin' these feds aren't too smart.
