Lena Dunham: A 'Huge Disappointment' to Like Men, not Women

Lena Dunham feels a very strong connection to the gay community.

So strong, in fact, that when she realized she was attracted to men it came as a "huge disappointment."

Dunham shared her views on her lesbian sister and sexual attraction during an appearance at the Point Honors Gala at the New York Public Library Monday....

I’m kind of astounded that she knew all about what “gay” meant *before* she was old enough to know what her own feelings were on the subject. I think I was a junior in H.S. before I heard about homosexuals or had a clue what set them apart.

I’m conducting my own little experiment with our young sons. We homeschool, and I watch over what they see and read pretty closely. When the term “gay” finally comes up and I have to explain it, I want to see what their natural reactions are, without having had years and years of being told it’s natural and good every time they turn around. Could be interesting....
