SIMFEROPOL, April 11. /ITAR-TASS/. The Crimean State Council has endorsed a Constitution of the Russian Republic of Crimea at its extraordinary session in the Crimean capital city on Friday.

Eighty-seven lawmakers voted for endorsement of the republican Constitution.

The Constitution of the Russian Republic of Crimea comprises ten chapters and 95 articles, the main provisions of the document are similar to articles of the Russian Constitution. The document holds that the Republic of Crimea is a democratic, rule-of-law state within the Russian Federation and an equal constituent entity of Russia. Crimean people making part of multiethnic Russian nation is a source of power in the republic.

The Constitution stipulates that “a referendum and free elections are a supreme direct expression of people’s power,” seizure of power and illegal taking of ruling powers are impermissible.

The republican Constitution holds that three languages — Russian, Ukrainian and Crimean-Tatar are state languages in Crimea. “The Russian Republic of Crimea recognises a principle of diversity of cultures and ensures their equitable development and mutual enrichment,” the just-endorsed republican Constitution reads.

According to the Constitution, the supreme official is a Head Of The Republic elected by the Crimean State Council for five years and not permitted to occupy this post for more than two terms in succession.

Yey! More Putinist propoganda. There is no “Republic of Crimea”, it is a military occupation by a Russian dictatorship. This “Republic” has no “Constitution”, it is govern by the martial law of a Russian occupying force. This “Republic” has no “President” Askyonov is a puppet governor who does whatever the Kremlin dictatorship tells him. Putin is not a “President”, he is a tyrant.

Who says any one favors taking away Ukrainian independence? I am simply reporting historical events that occurred.

People are free to make their own judgments about their significance.

So if the tables turn and Putin's anschluss fails, you'll be just as keen to provide the blow-by-blow account? If Putin's overthrown when all of his belligerence, bullying, and bravado do nothing to help the Russian people, you'll be keeping us up to speed? When the Russian people start to wonder why their president-for-life Putin has taken enough of Russia's natural wealth to become one of the richest men in the world, with $75 billion of it his, you'll make sure that as he falls for his hubris, that no one misses it?

Will you still be providing your non biased updates?
