Sgt. Wounded in 2009 Fort Hood Attack: Our Lives Would Be a ‘Living Hell’ Without Private Charities

Retired Staff Sgt. Alonzo Lunsford was shot seven times in the 2009 attack at Fort Hood, and told Glenn Beck Thursday that his life — and those of others who were wounded — would be a “living hell” if not for private charities.

The U.S. government has been criticized for not responding to the needs of America’s soldiers and veterans, particularly those wounded at Fort Hood. Lunsford has been among the most vocal critics, sharing his experience with TheBlaze’s investigative program “For the Record” back in February.

“Have you gotten anything for your back pain?” Beck asked Lunsford Thursday. “For your service when you were shot at Fort Hood?”

“No. I’m actually owed money,” Lunsford responded. “If it were not for outside organizations like K9s for Warriors, Homes for Our Troops, or the Military Warriors [Support] Foundation to help injured or wounded service members, our lives would be a living hell.”

I posted this not so much because of its content, but because of what I heard listening to Mark Levin this evening on my way home from the office.

SSG Lunsford requested a few minutes to speak to Obama on Obama's photo op this Wednesday at Ft. Hood and was rebuffed.

As Mark Levin said, among other things, SSG Lunsford didn't have $64,000.00 to pay for the privilege or words to that effect.

IMHO. this says everything we need to know about the Obama Regime.

On another note, I've been hearing spots on the radio about Wounded Warriors - a wounded vet talks about having lost his arm at the shoulder to an IED and having been "discharged." In my day, he would have beem medically retired with full benefits.

Is this what's happening now?

Not sure under what circumstances Lunsford was "rebuffed", but I can definitely believe that a tee time, fund raiser, vacation, or quality time with Reggie Love would be more important to this freak circus on wheels than a few minutes conversation with a wounded warrior.

What I heard on Levin was that he asked to see Obama while he was a Ft. Hood and was declined. As you probably know, the Won was on a tight scedule - he had two fundraisers he was scheduled to attend after his stop at Ft. Hood to DIShonor those who fell there.

Now I ask you - what reasonable public oficial would refuse a request from a retired, decorated, combat Veteran for a word?
