Bush draws boos from conservatives

A mention of former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (R), a potential 2016 presidential contender, brought boos from a conservative crowd in New Hampshire on Saturday.

Speaking at the New Hampshire Freedom Summit, a gathering of conservative activists and figures organized by Americans for Prosperity and Citizens United, billionaire Donald Trump said Bush’s recent comments on immigrants coming to the U.S. as an “act of love” were “out there.”

“You know, I heard Jeb Bush the other day,” he said, with quiet boos and angry murmurs erupting from the crowd at the mention of Bush’s name.

And judging by the past, I wish to know what there has been in the conduct of the British (insert Republican here) ministry for the last ten years, to justify those hopes with which gentlemen have been pleased to solace themselves, and the House? Is it that insidious smile with which our petition has been lately received? Trust it not, sir; it will prove a snare to your feet.

Suffer not yourselves to be betrayed with a kiss. Ask yourselves how this gracious reception of our petition comports with these war-like preparations which cover our waters and darken our land. (Rove/McConnel/Boehner declaring war on the tea party) Are fleets and armies necessary to a work of love and reconciliation?

Have we shown ourselves so unwilling to be reconciled, that force must be called in to win back our love? Let us not deceive ourselves, sir. These are the implements of war and subjugation; the last arguments to which kings (republicans) resort.

I ask, gentlemen, sir, what means this martial array, if its purpose be not to force us to submission? Can gentlemen assign any other possible motive for it?

This is excerpted from Patrick Henry's "Give me Liberty" speech in 1773. it explains the red pill line, and was aimed squarely at folks espousing your position.

As we have seen at the Bundy ranch - we need a conservative who will dismantle the Federal government. The Government has 2 useful purposes - one is to defend out borders - the borders we have, right here. Not trying to build democracies with muslims whose religion makes it impossible to have a system like we do. Again - borders, right here. Simple, yes?

The second is to defend the constitution by PROTECTING our citizen’s natural rights to be FREE!!! That means making sure we are not OPPRESSED by government!!! (i.e. BLM, IRS, Homeland Security, Education Dept, BATFE, NSA, etc.) Most of our budget goes to oppressing our own citizens.

We need to strip the FedGov to the bare bones - these agencies do everything but defend our liberties.

Yes, and I remember many good FReepers being ridiculed by others for speaking out against it all here on FR, while it was ongoing. (some were even purged)

Has the GOPe figured out that another Bush ain’t gonna fly?

“W” won the first election because most voters recognized Gore for what Gore is and the Democrats weren’t able to steal Florida (too many cameras in the recount process).

“W” won reelection because most voters recognized Kerry (and Edwards) for what Kerry (and Edwards) are and they paused to imagine how Gore would have handled 9-11.

Since then the GOP has been running candidates with “W’s” worst traits, ignore Democratic Party election fraud and then blame the Conservatives when they lose.

Bush 2 wasn’t actually a socialist, I would say he was more of a puppet for elitist and establishment types that favored global military and related interests. He generally favored large corporate interests over small business (ethanol, amnesty), but he understood that he could not destroy his base of support, ie the small business producers (tax cuts).

Iraq is now a failed state. There is no flourishing democracy there.

The country is destroyed and they are aligning themselves with Iran against the US.

That doesn’t sound like “victory” to me.

We need to lay the blame where it belongs. The democrats undermined every mission and slandered all of our Soldiers, Sailors, Devil-Dogs and Airmen.

Their proxy groups such as Code Pink spit on our war heros and screeched about “this illegal war and all of the uneccesary death” until Obama took office.

Since then even Cindy Sheehan saw the light. She kept on “keeping on,” looked back and found her “friends” abandoned her. Apparently it’s not cool to protest Democratic Presidents’ war deaths, even if the numbers are exponentionally higher than the Republican Predecessor!

W stuck us with the misnamed Patriot Act, the TSA, the Department of Reichland Security, Medicare part D, massive debt, not one but two Vietnam type wars we lost, ruined the military equipment built up by Reagan, tried so shove Amnesty down our throats, signed a ban on light bulbs, perpetuated the ethanol scam, completely ruined the Republican brand and thereby gave us Obama.

George Junior also stamped "secret" on the part of the 9-11 Commission report that is said to detail Saudi government officials' assistance to the hijackers.

But why let a little Act of War spoil a good romance?

Then I and a whole bucket load of real true conservatives will sit on our votes.
I’ll be damned if I again vote for a mamby pamby non conservative cause they are “the best we can hope for”?
Not going to happen.
If it is Jeb and the hildabeast, is there really any difference?
Both are for ever freaken larger federal damned gub mint.
I guarantee ya, I could get rid of about 40 percent of the damned monster and all it would do is great things.

So my question remains, you will fundraise for who? Anyone but the republican? If you are so adamant against the GOP i suggest you begin now to get your candidate on board.

But i honestly suspect it is MUCH easier to play the victim, isnt it?

If Jeb runs, he will lose.

Therefore, that would be a good sign we need to start a THIRD PARTY to replace the self-serving clique that ‘runs’ the GOP.

I definitely agree with you. I also have went out and ‘held my nose’ and voted for Bush, Dole, Bush, Bush(would have voted for the “D” if a viable candidate was offered), McCain and Romney.
NO more. Will either leave blank or go the other side(UGH!!) if anymore GOPe’s are in the mix.
I will show up for the election just to vote for the proper Senator or Representative and ‘issues’ but will NOT vote for a GOPe.

The only way WE are going to knock off the GOPe is to NOT brace them up by voting for a clown we don’t want - all it does is ‘allow’ them to say (or think) the race was closer than they imagined.

ONLY when they get POUNDED with Reagan Like #’s will they start to (maybe) wake up.

Oh, I was doing some ‘research’ today on the 64 race when Goldwater was beaten by Johnson.

At that time Goldwater was fighting the GOPe with the same BS going on as today, so this ‘battle’ has been going on for at least 50 years and ‘we’ keep caving in to the GOPe candidate...

NEVER AGAIN....I don’t ‘like’ the candidate, he doesn’t get my vote. PERIOD.

Here's what we need to do. Whenever anyone says “Candidate X is a RINO who performs fellatio on our political and ideological enemies and I won't vote for them in the primary; but, I'll vote for them in the general election” we need to first beat the snot out of them and then gently explain to them the error of their ways.

That analogy of the robber who “gives back” some of the money they stole is spot on!

Some have called the government we have a kleptocracy. But it is our problem - we had faith in these crooks because they waved the flag at us. I voted for GWB and believed that he was the 2nd coming of Reagan - but that was because the GOPe sold that to us - I was a trusting RUBE!!

But I am a rube no more. Only those who seriously act to dismantle the centrally planned FedGov have my vote. I’m not falling for their “wedge issue” BS (look up wedge issue to see how we are played for fools).

Defund the Fed. Give the states back their control. Government should be as local as possible - so you can yell at someone nearby if they oppress you.

And no more BS wars unless we go ALL IN with an act of congress - either we are in a state of WAR or we are NOT. No endless wars on everything that never end and only make the beast that oppresses us stronger.

And as for the Patriot Act - that act was put in place to oppress free people and christian conservatives. We were SUCKERS to believe it was for anyone else.
