Posted on 04/13/2014 7:34:12 AM PDT by jimbo123
Theyre both qualified, respectful of each other (shocker!), and represent the vast majority of middle America. So whats not to like about another Clinton/Bush race for 2016?
When you mention the prospect of Clinton vs. Bush 2016 a funny thing happens.
First, there is the reflexive response: "Oh no, not again. We don't need more dynastic politics in this country."
But upon further reflection, you realize Jeb Bush vs. Hillary Clinton would be a great race and actually good for the country.
QUALIFICATIONSTHEYVE BOTH GOT THEM.

I guess a headline with “Hillary & Jeb” is self-explanatory, hence no need for a BARF ALERT!
It would be great for liberals.
They’re both qualified? Because they’re both related to past presidents? That’s about all I see as quals for either of them. Running jeb would mean a shoe in for ANY demokkkrat they run.
Don't accept their premises.
I forgot. Jeb does speak spanglish so that’s a +.
Jeb and Christie should run in the democRat primary
QUALIFICATIONS-THEY’VE BOTH GOT THEM.
False premise, the writer must be some hack pushing for Cankles.
From Mark McKinnon, one of McCain’s handlers. Funny how the same old crowd of GOPe prognosticators keep telling us who is right for America.
If so, does anybody really think the people behind TIME magazine give a flying fig about what's good for America?
Good for Hitler, yes, but for America? Bah.
Someone has seen a poll showing Jeb Bush as beatable by Clinton.
If ANY Republican is STUPID enough to Hire Mark McKinnon, a DEMOCRAT, they will LOSE BIG!! Same goes for Nicole Wallace and Steve Schmidt!!
Mark McKinnon was W’s COMMUNICATIONS GUY!! How did THAT work out?
Jeb Bush, like McCain, looks beatable to the left. They’ll praise him until he clinches the nomination, then they’ll turn on the 24/7 hate machine and destroy him. What’s sad is that it works.
Hillary vs. Ted Cruz would be better.
So a nice polite Bush will once again be a punching bag for the left..while praising their standard bearer. That’s a real formula for winning. Show them how nice we can be..it sure worked before.
Daily Beast is Newsweek, the Left is trying to select Jeb Bush for the GOP as this goes with some other articles in the same vein.
Palin v Hillary would be a good contest.
If bloodlines are the qualifier, how about a great-nephew of Ronald Reagan vs. a great-grandson of Harry Truman?
Only in the case of a Death Cage match, maybe - certainly not in an election.
This is satire.
Biden vs. a-candidate-to-be-named-later would be even more fun. I still think that Hillary's health problems are more serious than those around her are letting on. Or even believe themselves. See above photo.
The MSM picking the Rock Stars for Presidency. We don’t need another reality show election. We need “strong” butt kicking leadership, not crony politics as usual. We need new faces, with new ideas, people who will motivate the country and let us get back to business again. I had a discussion with my 92 yr old aunt this week, she remembers what it was like during the depression, and she said this is worse. I kinda disagree, even though I remember eating a lot of eggs and potatoes back then. What I see is more politicians becoming rich through insider investments and under the table deals, and at the same time telling the voters that they are helping them. Hillary will take us to nowhere, maybe she can get Bush to run on the ticket with her. Far fetched?? Not at this point of our history. Hillary’s only interest is becoming the 1st Woman, the only thing she was successful in doing is having the Press at her six.
What Leftist wouldn’t be thrilled with a race between a Communist and a Progressive?
Of course. A win by either would be fine with the left.
For the elections they can’t actually steal, they primary us and get in as many rinos as possible.
Who is that person?? My guess, that guy with the funny mustache, the Star of the History Channel, what’s his name?
Not a single word about whether either would be good for the cause of liberty, either in America or the world!
When "the People" explore their qualifications for the American presidency at this critical juncture in America's history, we might consult an excerpted portion of the 1801 Inaugural Address of Thomas Jefferson for guidance on the seriousness of the undertaking:
(Excerpt) "Let us, then, with courage and confidence pursue our own Federal and Republican principles, our attachment to union and representative government. Kindly separated by nature and a wide ocean from the exterminating havoc of one quarter of the globe; too high-minded to endure the degradations of the others; possessing a chosen country, with room enough for our descendants to the thousandth and thousandth generation; entertaining a due sense of our equal right to the use of our own faculties, to the acquisitions of our own industry, to honor and confidence from our fellow-citizens, resulting not from birth, but from our actions and their sense of them; enlightened by a benign religion, professed, indeed, and practiced in various forms, yet all of them inculcating honesty, truth, temperance, gratitude, and the love of man; acknowledging and adoring an overruling Providence, which by all its dispensations proves that it delights in the happiness of man here and his greater happiness hereafterwith all these blessings, what more is necessary to make us a happy and a prosperous people? Still one thing more, fellow-citizensa wise and frugal Government, which shall restrain men from injuring one another, shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government, and this is necessary to close the circle of our felicities.
"About to enter, fellow-citizens, on the exercise of duties which comprehend everything dear and valuable to you, it is proper you should understand what I deem the essential principles of our Government, and consequently those which ought to shape its Administration. I will compress them within the narrowest compass they will bear, stating the general principle, but not all its limitations. Equal and exact justice to all men, of whatever state or persuasion, religious or political; peace, commerce, and honest friendship with all nations, entangling alliances with none; the support of the State governments in all their rights, as the most competent administrations for our domestic concerns and the surest bulwarks against antirepublican tendencies; the preservation of the General Government in its whole constitutional vigor, as the sheet anchor of our peace at home and safety abroad; a jealous care of the right of election by the peoplea mild and safe corrective of abuses which are lopped by the sword of revolution where peaceable remedies are unprovided; absolute acquiescence in the decisions of the majority, the vital principle of republics, from which is no appeal but to force, the vital principle and immediate parent of despotism; a well disciplined militia, our best reliance in peace and for the first moments of war, till regulars may relieve them; the supremacy of the civil over the military authority; economy in the public expense, that labor may be lightly burthened; the honest payment of our debts and sacred preservation of the public faith; encouragement of agriculture, and of commerce as its handmaid; the diffusion of information and arraignment of all abuses at the bar of the public reason; freedom of religion; freedom of the press, and freedom of person under the protection of the habeas corpus, and trial by juries impartially selected. These principles form the bright constellation which has gone before us and guided our steps through an age of revolution and reformation. The wisdom of our sages and blood of our heroes have been devoted to their attainment. They should be the creed of our political faith, the text of civic instruction, the touchstone by which to try the services of those we trust; and should we wander from them in moments of error or of alarm, let us hasten to retrace our steps and to regain the road which alone leads to peace, liberty, and safety."
Now, the question is: which 2016 potential candidate possesses both the intellectual and underlying philosophical qualifications to lead us to "retrace our steps and to regain the road which alone leads to peace, liberty, and safety"?
Names, anyone? Caution: must provide curriculum vitae, as is required for most employers!
Yeah, old whatzhisname....
Qualified to keep running the country into debt.
Stopped reading after the first 3 words.
McKinnon forgot the most important reason. Big government “no label” types like himself will get to pick and choose the gigs no matter who wins. Its a win win. This is the guy who worked for McCain campaign but had to resign in the general as he didn’t want to criticize Obama.
You made it that far?
Agree with the picture.
Hillary versus a Doberman would be better still.
>>QUALIFICATIONSTHEYVE BOTH GOT THEM.<<
Stopped reading right there. Anything after that has to be BS.
The Daily Beast loves Jeb Bush.
Hill and Jeb?
Hay McKinnon, I guess my knocking you on your ass 3 times wasn’t enough to knock some sense into that head of yours was it?
That’s me, mister kind hearted, I knew I shouldn’t have stopped.
The Nepotism Party
Anyone who actually believes that Slick Willie’s wife is qualified to be president and would make a “great” one should really consider giving up or at least cutting back on the recreational drugs.
Who is this person?
Please tell me how either is qualified to be president of the US.
Have you not learned enough about the impact of incompetence and blaming others after watching Obama make believe for the last 5 years?
