A smirking gunman who reportedly shouted Nazi slogans opened fire at a Jewish community center and an old-age home in a suburb of Kansas City, killing three people.
The gunman, said to be an older man, singled out Jewish victims for death, Rabbi Herbert Mandl, a chaplain with the Overland Park Police Department, told CNN.
“Asking someone if you are Jewish before shooting sounds very much like a hate crime,” Mandl said.
Police said two people were killed at the JCC of Greater Kansas City, where children were auditioning for a musical. Despite Mandl’s assertion, the JCC victims were identified as a churchgoing teenage boy and his grandfather.
Rev. Adam Hamilton shared the tragic news at an evening Palm Sunday service at the United Methodist Church of the Resurrection in Leawood, Kan., the Kansas City Star reported.
“Help us, oh, Lord to grieve as people of hope,” Hamilton told congregants, the paper said.
The third victim, a woman, was shot at Village Shalom, an assisted living facility about a mile away from the JCC.
The victim at the retirement home was an elderly woman who was shot as she walked out of Village Shalom, Mandl said.
Police said two other people were fired upon but not hit.
“It was an act of violence, it’s too early to label it,” said Overland Park Police Chief John Douglass. “We’re investigating it as a (possible) hate crime. We’re investigating it as a criminal act.”

One thing we can all be sure of is that the MSM and their control will zoom on this tragedy. Any possible agenda driven angle will be used. The target will be the old white male wacko, next, anyone even distantly connected to any conservative ideas will be sought.
We can learn a lesson from the mystery of the flight 370. Theories abound and still no definite information. Cooler heads should prevail here. Again, by now we all know of the "white Hispanic" and the darling child who was shot.
Time will tell.
Well I was changing channels and they were talking about this on CNN, they showed the suspect in the patrol car and you can clearly hear him say “Heil Hitler” so I heard it for myself..what is strange about this whole thing, he killed two Methodists yet he supposedly walked around asking “Are you a Jew” but these two victims were NOT Jewish, maybe he thought they were lying..it takes a particular kind of scum bag to kill a 14 year old kid..may this schmuck burn in hell

Your point well taken here and thank you for the definite information on the "Heil Hitler" shout. I had thought maybe it was thrown in for effect.
I took a look at a clearer photograph of the suspect being held in custody. I may be wrong, but he looked like he was mentally unbalanced. That does not excuse this wicked unnecessary act by him.
His life is virtually over.
Yeah I needed to hear it myself since I have no trust in the media..I had no idea they even caught it on tape til I heard it myself and there it was as clear as day..hopefully they do repeat it again so others who did not see it will hear it..the guy is a whack job but he is also a nazi scum so i hope he gets the chair

Could be those that were wounded told the police that is what he said..he obviously hates Jews not sure about the woman who died at the parking lot of the retirement hoke but not sure about what message he could have been sending by killing Methodists unless he believed they were lying..something similar happened here in LA many years ago at the north valley Jewish community center so this brings back memories and as a Jew myself it pains me to know these kind of vile scum want us dead

I think that the claim he asked if people were Jewish before shooting hasn't been confirmed. Apparently he also shot at people as they drove by in their cars and it'd be hard to ask their religion before opening fire. He was just a very hate-filled man who probably assumed everyone at a Jewish Community Center would be Jewish. As it happens the place was packed with teenagers and their parents who were there for a talent show tryout and a play rehersal. The crowd was overwhelmingly gentile.
Kansas is a lethal injection state. As soon as they finally get around to actually executing someone.
Turns out the youths had a swastika patch with a bar across it. They were calling others Nazis. It was NO Nazis.
This may be not on the subject, but the press has a lot to answer for.
