His humble Christian faith has helped the ex KGB man amass a personal fortune possibly as high as 70 billion dollars.

Russia is hardly a Christian country with the highest abortion rates and being a pedophile paradise??

Churches have been reopened and the persecution of Christians has ended.

After 70 years of Communism, there was a spiritual vacuum in Russia. Its slowly being repaired.

Post-Communist Russia is not completely up to our standards but its been less than 20 years since the Soviet Union fell.

Russia has changed a lot in the last 20 years.

In 1993 there were 2.34 abortions for every live birth.
By 2012 there were 0.57 abortions for every live birth.

They are definitely heading in the right direction.

Amassing 70 billion dollars in secret, all the while claiming a very modest income ($150,000 in total bank savings in 2007) is a whole new level, than not being above reproach.

Churches have been reopened and the persecution of Christians has ended.

I thought that Protestant Christians were having problems, as Putin establishes a state approved church.

This is finally a good discussion for everyone!

Challenge the Old and consider the New.....

Per the time stamp, I notice that many folks replied short of the 14 minute window required for listening to the youtube...so therefore, how can these responses be considered ‘responses’ and not “knee-jerk memes” that we love to assign to the ‘Progressive Left’.

That is an impressive group to place Putin with, but did they amass that kind of wealth?

Seventy billion dollars is a new height as far as I know, especially for a guy getting this thread and many like it, about how Christian he is.

I didn’t post a thread about a “Christian” Putin, I’m just observing that corruption has been going on since before we left the caves, or even the trees.

Not everyone needs to watch a youtube video today, to comment on a corrupt world leader that they have been watching for many years.

I didn’t say you did post this thread, and that’s nice that you want to keep telling us that many leaders are corrupt, not just Putin.

Putin seems to have taken it to a whole new level though, with 70 billion dollars and being praised by many here, as the Christian savior of the West.

I can’t judge someone by a youtube video.

If I had to have one of them living in my house with my family, either Obama or Putin, I’d have to have Putin move in.

I’d sure hate to actually have either of them in my home though lol

Yes, that is rambling, and who knows what it was supposed to be answering in post 22.

Seventy billion dollars is a lot of money for a corrupt KGB man to accumulate when he takes over his country.

This video is especially important to the Russian Christians who were persecuted by the USSR. As he said, Putin was baptized in secret because his father was a Communist.

My family survived this in Russia and now the wheel turns in this country.

Here is a quote from the Catholic Archbishop of Chicago:

In 2010, Cardinal Francis George of Chicago outlined the degree to which he believed religious freedoms (in the United States and other Western societies) were endangered. After the passage of legislation that enabled Civil Unions in Illinois, his eminence stated:

I expect to die in bed, my successor will die in prison and his successor will die a martyr in the public square.

In February of 2012, Cardinal George reflected on the seriousness of the Obama administration’s health-care mandate:

At the present moment, Catholics in this country are facing challenges to our institutional existence and our mission that we thought would never arise here. … The laws that used to protect us are now being used to weaken and destroy us, and this quite deliberately.

Churches have been reopened and the persecution of Christians has ended.

From what i have read, it has somewhat depended whether "Christian" is defined as Orthodox versus Evangelical.
