Reports: Company Tied to Reid's Son Wants Land in Bundy Standoff

The Nevada rancher who forced the federal Bureau of Land Management to back down last week may have been targeted because a Chinese solar company with ties to Sen. Harry Reid's son wants the land for an energy plant, several websites report.

A report on Godfatherpolitics.com, says Chinese energy giant ENN Energy Group wants to use federal land as part of its effort to build a $5 billion solar farm and panel-building plant in the southern Nevada desert. Rory Reid, the son of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, is representing ENN in their efforts to locate in Nevada.

Part of the land ENN wants to use was purchased from Clark County at well below appraised value. Rory Reid is the former Clark County Commission chairman, and he persuaded the commission to sell 9,000 acres of county land to ENN on the promise it would provide jobs for the area, Reuters reported in 2012.

Further, Loesch reports, Harry Reid pressured the BLM to change the tortoise's protected zone to accommodate developer Harvey Whittemore, one of the Democrat's top donors. Whittemore was convicted in May 2013 of making illegal campaign contributions to him.

"BLM has proven that they’ve a situational concern for the desert tortoise as they’ve had no problem waiving their rules concerning wind or solar power development," Loesch writes.

"Clearly, these developments have vastly affected a tortoise habitat more than a century-old, quasi-homesteading grazing area. If only Clive Bundy were a big Reid donor."

Nevada ranch standoff could leave dirt on Harry Reid’s reputation ......."Speculation spiked in recent days over Mr. Reid’s connection to the BLM episode, in which federal contractors seized about 400 head of cattle from 68-year-old rancher Cliven Bundy over his refusal to pay an estimated $1 million in grazing fees over 20 years.

“It was likely pressure from upstairs, rather than weapons from the field, that changed his mind on the matter,” the liberal group Americans Against the Tea Party said in an online post. “Fact is, Harry Reid probably didn’t want his name attached to the biggest civilian massacre in U.S. history right before election season.”

The Las Vegas Review-Journal, Nevada’s largest newspaper, criticized the BLM’s handling of the situation in a Friday editorial, saying the “federal government is all about intimidation and overreach.”................

IMO there is an effort underway to pay off the Chinese with sweetheart deals on American land and industry so they won’t dump the trillion in treasury notes they are holding.

Thank goodness the mainstream media is digging into this with the same intensity they had for Watergate and Iran-Contra. Not? I wonder why.

Is this the infamous Rory No-Last-Name, who at the height of Daddy Pinky Reid's unpopularity (before Pinky miraculously turned the tide and managed to steal another election) declined to use his last name while unsuccessfully campaigning in the Nevada gubernatorial election?
That dirtbag?

The standoff with the patriots should have been on Harry Reid's lawn and that of his son and their families, not Clive Bundy's.

We need to bring back tar and feathers for crooks like Reid.

“Nevada ranch standoff could leave dirt on Harry Reid’s reputation”....

The ranch issue is “peanuts”, Reid’s reputation had previously been WELL ESTABLISHED long before the deal with the Chinese surfaced. With that said, major “heat” needs to be directed at Reid once again. He needs prosecuting for his past corruption and of course the current “ranch” issue. Get he and his son and whomever else has their dirty fingers in the pie.

“IMO there is an effort underway to pay off the Chinese with sweetheart deals on American land and industry so they won’t dump the trillion in treasury notes they are holding.”

The Chinese have virtually stopped buying new US treasury debt and are actively working with the Russians, Iranians, and other to remove the dollar as the world’s reserve currency. Hence the Federal Reserve prints money to buy the debt the government now issues, setting us up for future hyperinflation and collapse of the dollar.

There is no reason to give the Chinese anything to discourage them from selling the trillion dollars in debt they own. They can only sell the debt if they can find a buyer. If the Federal Reserve will stop printing money to buy Treasury debt the Chinese will have no buyer if they wish to dump the debt quickly unless they want to sell at fire sale prices and lose billions on the transaction.

There is no foreclosure option for the US Treasury debt the Chinese own. They really have no option other than continuing to collect interest payments and cashing out as the notes mature.

As far as sweetheart deals, those have been going on for years with the Chinese just as they have with Arabs and Japanese in the past. When wealthy capitalists having no morals or scruples combine forces with corrupt politicians there will be shady deals. This Chinese deal is all about putting money in the Reid family pocket.

Harry Reid is the most corrupt senator I have yet seen. His ties to big money are amazing. That is how he holds power.

And he’s blocking any Senate action against the adm. so there will be no investigation or prosecution of him or his partners in these activities.

Privileged government officials and their family members can seize citizens’ property and businesses?

Yeah, that’s the way to get the economy going and attract capital.

I just listened to the latest Stansberry video.

As usual, after about 45 minutes of explaining how Adam met Eve, and how the wheel and fire were invented, he had some interesting information in the last couple of minutes, before he started pushing his newsletter, at which point I quit.

FATCA. Americans are going to be dumped by foreign banks worldwide. This is capital controls. Passed by the same wonderful Congress that gave us Obamacare. It starts July 1st.

This will make Smoot-Hawley look like the reign of Milton Friedman.

Comments, anybody?

Since when do “solar farms” produce energy?

When a solar plant—or any other development—is built in the desert the developer is required to mitigate the environmental effect by purchasing desert acreage of equal size and dedicating it as public land. It may be ENN is looking for mitigation land in Clark County. This wouldn’t produce any jobs.
