Nevada Cattle Rancher Wins ‘Range War’ With Feds

This is the power of social media. This is the power of personal video cameras. This is the power of citizen journalists. And the next time Senator Feinstein calls for “licencing” only “legitimate journalists,” that the 1st Amendment only extends to people who work at the New York Times, Washington Post, or MSNBC, remember this moment. This is how the bullies with the power, the cronies and their allies, are turned back.

Dianne Feinstein First Amendment Is A Special Privilege

This is not about a rancher owing the Bureau of Land Management money. This is about a federal government which just assumed control of public land years ago (not government land like military bases or federal courthouses – though the taxpayers do pay for these too) changing the rules and telling citizens to lump it. It’s about a central authorities passing regulations in Washington with little regard, indeed contempt for the little guy out in flyover country.

Well the little guy stood up this time and other little guys came to his aid. This is how it’s done. Film it. Share it. Get the word out.

And always remember your 1st Amendment right. It is the 1st Amendment for a reason.

(From ABC News)

However, today the BLM said it would not enforce a court order to remove the cattle and was pulling out of the area.

“Based on information about conditions on the ground, and in consultation with law enforcement, we have made a decision to conclude the cattle gather because of our serious concern about the safety of employees and members of the public,” BLM Director Neil Kornze said.

“We ask that all parties in the area remain peaceful and law-abiding as the Bureau of Land Management and National Park Service work to end the operation in an orderly manner,” he said.

The roundup began April 5, following lengthy court proceedings dating back to 1993, federal officials said. Federal officers began impounding the first lot of cows last weekend, and Bundy responded by inviting supporters onto his land to protest the action.

“It’s not about cows, it’s about freedom,”

Thinking he has won may be like Beauregard thinking the Confederates had won the battle of Shiloh after the fighting on April 6th.

The feds will be back. Bob Massie on Fox & Friends cited various legal rulings against Bundy--apparently he hasn't had money for lawyers to fight everything and of course the feds have unlimited tax money to use to go after the average citizen if they choose.

They cautioned against violence, yet the only violence was from the BLM with the tasering of a woman and during an arrest of a man. Warning the people to be peaceful?

That’s like telling the gathering crowd to be careful with matches as they watch the Reichstag burn to the ground.

I love the “1st amendment areas.”

You have the right to protest but only after “we” choose the place and time and decide to allow you to exercise your right.

Not surprising that the Feds would chose and area way out of view of the reporters and the original conflict.

If that happens... we need to be ready to truncate. Information is so vital that its loss CANNOT be allowed. In previous years the MSM could be counted on to report the news fairly. This is no longer true.

IF WE ARE BLIND, WE HAVE LOST.

True. Bunkerville was a battle, not a war.

I expect a full disclosure of the plans for the land. After all, this is an “open administration.”

I am betting that it has little to do with a tortoise and everything to do about cronyism and the little guy gets screwed.

He didn’t win the war, he won the first battle. These people do not give up.

They will be back.
They are vindictive and manipulative, they will bide their time and strike when Bundy is caught off guard.
They didn’t like being made to retreat and their egos have been bruised.
They will be back.

No, he didn't.

They'll be back. They are already staging the next assault.
