Skip to comments.BAUER: Terry McAuliffe, bait-and-switch culture warrior

In his campaign for governor last fall, Terry McAuliffe adopted the straightforward slogan "Putting Jobs First" to convey to Virginia voters that, if elected, he would make the commonwealth's economy his first priority.
Mr. McAuliffe's surrogates similarly touted the former Democratic moneyman's fiscal focus. Former Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine endorsed Mr. McAuliffe because, he said, "We want somebody who wakes up thinking about jobs, thinking about the economy, thinking about finding a great deal, thinking about training the workforce."
"I know what Terry's priority is," Mr. Kaine continued. "It's economic opportunity for Virginia."

A “platinum level” member of the Clinton Crime Family.
Surely nobody that voted for him is surprised at this?
Their strategy worked perfectly to produce a Clintonian plurality win.
I get tired of hearing about how government can create jobs. They can’t (at least important private sector jobs). Every government employee COSTS the country money. There is no net add to tax revenue when the government hires a worker. They produce nothing that sells.
The only thing government can do is inhibit the free market. They can only influence a climate that will let the chicken and egg find their own balance. Consumers need disposable income to make the economy grow. Disposable income comes from wages that outpace inflation. Incomes are based on supply and demand. Demand is driven by disposable income. When the government takes income out of the private sector and then regulates an industry into stagnation and risk, they stifle innovation, production and entrepreneurial risk taking.
The right candidate would only mention jobs as a side note to their goal of shrinking government so the private market can again take chances, take risks and make profits.
Right, like Reagan, creating jobs meant getting government out of the way.
We are living in a nightmare in Virginia. McAuliffe is holding nearly all legislation hostage to his push for VA signing up for the obamacare Medicaid package. Counties and cities are trying to do budgets but they can’t plan on what will come from State. Frankly it appears that McAuliffe is ‘almost’ a clone of obama.
It is a nightmare and it’s going to get worse before it gets better, if it ever does.
The key is, when a politician sez he’s going to put jobs first, check to see if he’s actually ever held a job, or never even had to. Thanks HokieMom.
Dear VA: you voted for this DIM/LIB assclown, no?
Va voters should be incensed that the stupid Clintons, Obaha and dumb-head Biden actually set foot in their state---pimping for McAwful. McAwfull was sucking at the Clinton pile---had about ten times the funds that Cuccinelli had. MacAuliffe is the bag-man for the Clintons...This bunch is Terrified of the Tea Party, which demands all politicians live by their sworn oaths to Defend and obey our Constitution.
The Clinton cabal, Obomba, and MacAuliffe see public office as an "investment---"return on investment" begins when they take the oath of office. Looks like genteel Virginia voters were manipulated by McAuliffe applying Obama/Clinton political muscle to win office.
" Yup, it's in the back seat, Terry. The newest vote fraud meat grinder,
in tip-top shape. Oiled and ready to use on Cuccinelli....complete
with do-it yourself instructions."
INSTRUCTIONS: Insert Republican at top.
ADDENDUM It was recently revealed that VA DMV latino personnel handed illegals phony licenses---which enabled them to illegally vote for McAwful.
