The U.S. Justice Department on Thursday released a scathing report in response to a series of deadly police shootings that pointed to patterns of excessive force by the Albuquerque Police Department, serious constitutional violations and a lack of training and oversight of its officers. After more than a year of reviewing hundreds of cases handled by the Albuquerque police, the federal agency found that officers too frequently used deadly force on people "who posed a minimal threat" and used a higher level of force too often on those with mental illness.

After cramming gloved fingers in body orifices and shooting the homeless they finally realized this????
The Corruption of the NM police has been well known for YEARS....
Ironic coming from Eric Holder’s Justice Department but I wouldn’t throw the baby out with the bathwater...
The Justice Department should now investigate the BLM and plethora of federal police forces.

Holder is just pissed ABQ police got there first....
Not just New Mexico, sadly.
Their recruiting billboards along the highway feature their SWAT team.
It wasn’t that long ago that police in Southern N.M. detained a guy who did nothing wrong for a couple of days and forced him to undergo a colonoscopy looking for drugs he did not have.
As I recall the story, there were about five of varying degrees of thoroughness.
Sounds like the Albuquerque PD is alot like President Obama, “Really good at killing people”
As I recall there were multiple enemas and one colonoscopy, but I didn’t go back to the story. I’m just glad I’m not that guy and hope he makes them pay out their wazoos.
Exactly. They put that man through tortures we won’t even joke about using on terrorists.
Maybe the feds will put the Albuquerque cops down on Bundy’s ranch now for doing such a good job.
Good Lord, was this recently? Got any details on this? Thanks.
I realize the guy had previously snuck drugs in his anus, but really, since when do we question the validity of an X-ray?
So is this Holder’s hit on Susanna Martinez?
Dang. 15 posts and the Police Apologists haven’t shown up yet to explain how the perps had it coming to them.
Weren’t those bean bag guns?
Feds: ‘Excessive force’ found in Feds
That’s the headline I want to see with the story being:
Fedgov disarms itself and limits authority to just that in the Constitution.
Every dumb monkey in government seems to be armed. The jamokes at Immigration all carry guns even for just an administrative position. It’s nuts.
ok, so now what?! Most Americans don’t believe the police and most don’t believe the feds!
Only one gun was a bean bag gun.
Here’s a link to one of the many articles. Search for James Boyd shooting Albuquerque. You do have to answer a 1 question survey to view the article.
What about Nevada
Thank you for this link.
I am Joaquin’s Total Lack Of Surprise.
Police apologists are dwindling in number on a daily basis.
I’m sure there are still plenty of them around, but they are finding it more and more difficult to make their case.
Believe in yourself.
