Medical pot measure could boost Fla. Democrats

Tied to an unpopular president and his signature health care law, Democrats in the nation’s largest swing state see medical marijuana as a potential antidote to political malaise in this year’s midterm elections.

Party operatives are pushing a constitutional amendment that would make Florida the first state in the South to legalize some pot use. Polls show the measure has widespread public support, and it’s particularly popular among young voters—a critical part of the Democratic coalition with historically weak turnout in non-presidential election years.

“I wish that it didn’t take medical marijuana on the ballot to motivate our young voters,” said Ana Cruz, former executive director of the Florida Democratic Party. “But listen, we’ll take it any way we can get it.”

“I just love these satire articles.”

Too bad it isn’t satire. And it could work to bring out students and potheads. Many times a campaign is won around the fringe vote margins. It only takes one vote over the other guy to win.

C’mon Joe, you KNEW this was going to happen when it won the court battle. I’m already on edge about losing Scott to Crist.

Crist has an agenda, and he WILL reverse Florida’s gains under Scott.

You can laugh at them because they do not know what they are praying for. Also you can cry for the Country because the Country knows what these sobs are doing to it.
