Despite much diplomatic effort, the situation in Ukraine worsens. A coordinated Russian campaign, including an invasion threat, special operations destabilization in eastern Ukraine patterned on the Crimea model, and warnings of gas cutoffs document ever more clearly Vladimir Putins aim to cripple the Ukrainian government and control much or even all of this strategically vital European country.

Oh HELLLLLL NO....
Yes, I think the Walpo editorial board should go establish a beach head right now. Call when you get there.
Umm, how about you first, James Jeffrey.
And then some.
You first James!!
Right... with the dumbassed, military-hating faggedy boy king leading from behind.
They may need better air cover, but US infantry deployment would create far more trouble than it would solve.
US should send troops to OUR southern border!
By James Jeffrey, Tuesday, April 15, 8:09 AM
James Jeffrey is a distinguished visiting fellow at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy. He was U.S. ambassador to Iraq in the Obama administration and U.S. ambassador to Kuwait from 1996 to 1999.
Calling all Obamacons to demonstrate your loyalty to Occupy Terra!
After our government tried so hard to disarm Ukraine so this could happen why would they do anything now?
James Jeffrey is an idiot...He should call for fellow liberals to join him as militia volunteers to help them out.
James Jeffrey is a Bush crony. Used to be W’s deputy national security advisor. He’s probably one of Jeb’s cheerleaders now and hates Rand Paul.
The US military force structure is essentially broke. Not one major battle tank remains in the EUCOM AOR. Why not contract out the operation to lets say ...Germany? maybe France? How about Poland? We can pay them very well by just printing $$$.
Give Mr. Jeffrey a gun and he can go first.
Bad idea. What NATO could do is offer to patrol Ukrainian air space, at the Ukrainian government’s invitation. Once accepted, the Russians will be leery of entering Ukrainian territory, since no attacking ground force can prevail against relentless air attacks, and the NATO air forces can destroy every aircraft Russia flies over Ukraine simply through the weight of numbers.
Grab your rifle, James, lead the charge!
Nope. We should not.
Those meany Russians have made the Mighty God-King Obama look bad, and they MUST be punished!!
You mean sending the IRS after Putin, like this administration does to US Citizens that disagree with them won’t work?
There are just not enough ways to say “HO” to this idiocy.
US should send our President to have a head to head physical martial arts contest between our leader and theirs. The winner decides about Ukraine.
Maybe then the American people would start electing proven leaders instead of people whose skin color was under-represented in the White House.
No...Europe should send ground troops to Ukraine.
0 cannot even keep Freedom for our Country let alone any other! This is a job for the Blue hats. By the way where is the UN on this?
Ah, the CIA’s official propaganda sheet, managing PR on behalf of new world order financial elites, is weighing in on “what we should do”.
The CIA/communist/Wall Street old money links go on and on...
“What NATO could do is offer to patrol Ukrainian air space,”
Hello, World War Three!
Madness. Utter madness.
While its true you go to war with the military you have, I’m not sure we should go to war with the government we have.
I read somewhere that this is really important.
Yep. This is a European problem that doesn’t get addressed because they expect us to solve it.
More like "Hello Korean War" or "Hello Vietnam War", when Russians fought American pilots in the skies.
What exactly is the national SECURITY threat to the US?
“Do something” mission always end badly for us.
I’m a strong pro-Ukraine, anti-Putin guy. But there is exactly NO CHANCE we’re sending troops.
We could put Russia on the North Korea Pariah State list, and they would fold in about 3 weeks. No boots on ground required.
So why risk our military guys when a strong leader here could do the job with banking and trade restrictions?
I’m missing the justification for this. Are there endangered turtles or something?
Assuming NATO has the balls to stand up and fight. . .
The beauty of this effort is that - for a change - American pilots shot down over Ukraine would be parachuting into friendly territory, just like the Russians who flew over North Korea and North Vietnam, whereas every Russian who had to eject over Ukraine would be lost to the Russian Air Force.
Yeah studying history is a really good idea because Russia has long since perfected a strategy of drawing enemies in and sitting back while they die.
Capital idea! So which population center in the Continental US gets vaporized first after NATO starts shooting down planes and killing troops belonging to a nuclear armed country?
Our guys fought aerial battles with the Russians over Korea and Vietnam, and no cities have been vaporized, as yet.
“Im missing the justification for this.”
Putin has publicly dissed the gay Media God-King Obama, made him look foolish, and wouldn’t let him bomb Syria for Open Society, Saudi, et.,al..
The Obamunist plan to get back at Putin by destabilizing Ukraine isn’t going as planned, and Putin isn’t sitting idly by and letting it happen.
He must be taught a lesson, since calling him a racist isn’t having any effect.
Oh, a little more on the illustrious Ben Bradlee, form executive editor of WaPo...
from wikipedia article on him:
“In 1952 Bradlee joined the staff of the Office of U.S. Information and Educational Exchange (USIE), the embassy’s propaganda unit. USIE produced films, magazines, research, speeches, and news items for use by the CIA throughout Europe. USIE (later known as USIA) also controlled the Voice of America, a means of disseminating pro-American “cultural information” worldwide. While at the USIE, according to a Justice Department memo from an assistant U.S. attorney in the Rosenberg Trial, Bradlee was helping the CIA manage European propaganda regarding the spying conviction and execution of Julius and Ethel Rosenberg on June 19, 1953.
Bradlee was officially employed by USIE until 1953, when he began working for Newsweek. While based in France, Bradlee divorced his first wife and married Antoinette Pinchot. At the time of the marriage, Antoinette’s sister, Mary Pinchot Meyer, was married to Cord Meyer, a key figure in Operation Mockingbird, a CIA program to influence the media. Antoinette Bradlee was also a close friend of Cicely d’Autremont, who was married to James Jesus Angleton. Bradlee worked closely with Angleton in Paris. At the time, Angleton was liaison for all Allied intelligence in Europe. His deputy was Richard Ober, a fellow student with Bradlee at Harvard University.
In 1957, while working as a reporter for Newsweek, Bradlee created controversy when he interviewed members of the FLN. They were Algerian guerrillas who were in rebellion against the French government at the time. According to Deborah Davis, author of Katharine the Great about Katharine Graham, this had all the “earmarks of an intelligence operation”. As a result of these interviews, Bradlee was given an expulsion order from France. The order was later suspended and finally repealed.”
Capital idea! So which population center in the Continental US gets vaporized first after NATO starts shooting down planes and killing troops belonging to a nuclear armed country?Did Afghanistan get nuked?
“What exactly is the national SECURITY threat to the US?”
There’s none. But it’s too late now.
Obama now owns the problem because he helped overthrow the democratically elected pro-russian government.
He’s an idiot with too much power who was probably bored and decided to play with the CIA. Now this may well escalate into a nuclear exchange.
HELL NO !
And stop asking, the answer is going to be HELL NO every time.
“Obama got dissed!” isn’t causus Beli for unleashing Nuclear War upon the planet.
He’s an 0bammunist and a Clintonista ... and an idiot.
Man, they all become war-hawks when they like the political leanings of the current President. How convenient...
Drown the world's petro markets with a flood of American oil and natural gas.
Ah but the Obamacon is a relatively new hybrid. It is the what happens when the receptive neocon chickenhawk is serviced by Obammunist policy studs.
You first Jimmy Jeff...
