Connecticut lawmakers are touting comprehensive firearm restrictions passed one year ago as instrumental to a continuing decline in gun violence.

In April 2013, a bill reached Gov. Dannel Malloy’s desk that required, among other provisions, universal background checks for all gun purchases and a thorough registration process for all existing firearms. Malloy quickly signed SB1160 into law. The bill’s final leg — widening the sweep of restrictions to shotguns and rifles — was phased in this month, marking a 12-month push to fight crime by ensuring weapons do not fall into the wrong hands. The Dec. 2012 shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School loomed large among the motivations for increased gun control.

And since it was passed, there hasn't been a single gun crime committed in the entire state. And all those hateful gun owners readily complied with the registration requirements. And no guns of any type have been seen anywhere since the passage. Well, maybe not so much. More proof positive that these halls of higher education may educate but apparently nobody is actually learning anything. Can't wait to see what hahvahd has to say.

HAHA! 'Praising' it? With close to 90% NONCOMPLIANCE?!

The Connecticut citizens, by and large, told them to shove their null and void "law"!

If you repeat a lie often enough and with sufficient emphasis, people come to regard it as truth.

In fact, there have been NO reliable statistical compilations or analyses performed since the passage of the Connecticut law.

The Dec. 2012 shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School loomed large among the motivations for increased gun control.

But they were merely a patch on the usual runaway statist fantasies.

Absolutely correct.

However, as with all things liberal, facts have no bearing. It's all about feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelings.

Felons are not required to register.

“The original Haynes decision continues to block state prosecutions of criminals who fail to register guns as required by various state law gun registration schemes.”

Every “gun” story I have read in the lame stream media includes “Since Sandy Hook” or “Since Unamarmed Angelic Cherub Unarmed Black Teen Trayvon Martin was Shot.”

Every frickin’ one of them.

“To me, a common sense approach would be to figure out which states have the lowest firearm homicide rates and figure out what they’re doing,” Lawlor said.

If you check the stats (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_violence_in_the_United_States_by_state) New Hampshire and Vermont have the lowest "gun violence" rates in the US. They also have some of the fewest gun restrictions in the country.
