Bloomberg to spend $50M on new gun control effort in challenge to NRA

Former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg will spend $50 million this year to build a nationwide grassroots network on gun control in a direct challenge to the National Rifle Association, The New York Times reported.

The new lobbying group, called Everytown for Gun Safety, will encompass other gun control groups funded by Bloomberg, Mayors Against Illegal Guns and Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, the report said.

Bloomberg told the Times the strategy will focus on expanding the background check system for gun buyers at the state and national levels. He made nearly $14 million in federal campaign contributions for gun-control candidates in the 2012 elections.

"They say, 'We don’t care. We’re going to go after you,'" he said of the NRA. "'If you don’t vote with us we’re going to go after your kids and your grandkids and your great-grandkids. And we’re never going to stop.'"

He's never going to stop.

What conservative or religious rich guy will spend his own money to cut back abortions (infanticide control)?

Abortion is a made-up-from-whole-cloth constitutional “right” so no one chooses to challenge it; they just accept it as “the law of the land”.

Amendment No. 2 expressly recognizes Right to Keep and Bear Arms as a God-given fundamental right, but it cannot find a father (except the NRA).

And many efforts are trained on destroying NRA and its donors.

What if NRA gets infiltrated like the AARP and AMA and turns on us? What if NRA is destroyed like Tea Party? What then?

And per usual he will end up with the same old gaggle of paycheck seeking time servers from the paycheck left, half of which will be gun owners or gated community hypocrites (and evil) to staff his outfit.

He's never going to stop.

I've been saying that about anti-gunners for years. They can't be bargained with because they have nothing to offer. They can't be reasoned with because their position isn't derived from logic. You cannot compromise with them because they only want to take. They don't feel pity - they couldn't care less if some wack job kills your disarmed family. They don't feel fear because they have nothing to fear. If all gun control were rolled back today they would have lost nothing. And they absolutely will not stop, ever, until

  1. we are disarmed and enslaved,
  2. we are dead murdered by their armed JBTs "resisting arrest" or
  3. they are dead
I personally prefer option 3

Psst Mike, could you spend some more in Colorado. That seemed to go down really well. But hey, you are a typical lefty that just assumes the world is with you. Clue you in, they aren’t.

Bloomberg is perhaps not too bright if he tries to create a separate gun control group.

Handgun Control, Inc., and all the other little victim-headed groups like the more recent Giffords shooting entrepreneurship (along with her grafter husband), Newtown anti-gun groups, et al will be honked off if he waylays their donation cash.

Newtown anti-gun groups

It was my understanding that Bloomturd's money was already behind the Newton anti-gun group.

That is quite possibly true. I’m just thinking there are a lot of groups out there like that which have become enterprises unto themselves that subsist on making victimhood profitable. Most noted was the Brady thing, newest most-known is the Giffords thing. In the end, it all ends up being about money over ideology.

Bloomers may already be looking forward to croaking as he expects to go to the head of the line at the Pearly Gates.

Can’t come too soon, but see earlier post. He thinks he CAN take it with him.

He's going after Americans constitutionally protected rights, and claims he is going after the NRA. He and his "mayors" group should be indicted on RICO charges.

18 U.S. Code § 242 - Deprivation of rights under color of law

Whoever, under color of any law, statute, ordinance, regulation, or custom, willfully subjects any person in any State, Territory, Commonwealth, Possession, or District to the deprivation of any rights, privileges, or immunities secured or protected by the Constitution or laws of the United States, or to different punishments, pains, or penalties, on account of such person being an alien, or by reason of his color, or race, than are prescribed for the punishment of citizens, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than one year, or both; and if bodily injury results from the acts committed in violation of this section or if such acts include the use, attempted use, or threatened use of a dangerous weapon, explosives, or fire, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both; and if death results from the acts committed in violation of this section or if such acts include kidnapping or an attempt to kidnap, aggravated sexual abuse, or an attempt to commit aggravated sexual abuse, or an attempt to kill, shall be fined under this title, or imprisoned for any term of years or for life, or both, or may be sentenced to death.

The Constitution clearly outlines an individual right to keep and bear arms, and this has been affirmed by the USSC.

Moms Demand a Real Man is nothing but an Astroturf group headed by a former PR harpy, and now it is funded fully by Bloomie the tyrant.

I will not comply with any new gun restriction law they bully the Feds into.

Will. Not. Comply.
