Politics aside, who was cooler: Steve McQueen or Paul Newman?
Tough call for me: SM died relatively young (50); PN was racing cars well into his 70’s.
I vote McQueen by a hair.

McQueen, clearly. He just radiated “cool”. “The Sand Pebbles” is one of my favorite movies of all time.
But Newman was definitely a good actor; “Cool Hand Luke,” and “Cat On A Hot Tin Roof” were good roles for him.
But I admit I have a difficult putting politics aside anymore. We are where we are BECAUSE our side put politics aside; the other guys NEVER did, or do.

This is good news, Mary Landrieu is clearly scared.
I never thought highly of Steve McQueen. Drunk, wife-beater, serial adulterer, home-wrecker, narcotics user, back stabber. Admittedly, he had a horrible childhood which twisted his mind.
