For years, when asked about his position on same-sex marriage, President Obama would say that it was "evolving." How that evolution occurred, and the insiders and outsiders who helped to push it along, is addressed in an in-depth article from journalist Jo Becker in the current New York Times Magazine.
The article is an excerpt from Becker's book, “Forcing the Spring: Inside the Fight for Marriage Equality," which hits shelves Tuesday.
The excerpt includes many details on why the president changed his mind. There was a public push, of course, with national opinion shifting in favor of same-sex marriage, but there was also a concerted effort by advocates. Here are some of the most memorable details from Becker's piece.
1. In April 2012, Vice President Joe Biden visited the home of of Michael Lombardo and his husband, Sonny Ward, to meet with a group of gay Democrats about same-sex marriage advocacy and the upcoming campaign for re-election. According to Becker, the meeting had a profound effect on Biden, especially when he met the two children of Lombardo and Ward.
Chad Griffin, who was also present at the home and, according to Becker, played a significant part in advocating within the White House for marriage equality, asked Biden if the vice president could "talk in a frank, honest way about your own personal views as it relates to equality, but specifically as it relates to marriage equality.”
Biden was taken off guard, but obliged. Via the New York Times Magazine:
“I look at those two beautiful kids,” Biden began. “I wish everybody could see this. All you got to do is look in the eyes of those kids. And no one can wonder, no one can wonder whether or not they are cared for and nurtured and loved and reinforced.

Rand Paul has “evolved” on gay marriage as well, he even uses the word.
“”Evolve, adapt or die. That is the fate of our current Republican party. We must evolve as a party and find a way to attract millennials to the conservative movement or we will never succeed in realizing our ideals of individual freedom and freedom from government interference.””
“I think that the Republican Party, in order to get bigger, will have to agree to disagree on social issues,” Paul advised. “The Republican Party is not going to give up on having quite a few people who do believe in traditional marriage. But the Republican Party also has to find a place for young people and others who don’t want to be festooned by those issues.”
Right there in this article you can see how Obama always used the homosexual marriage issue for his own political expediency. Most troubling is that the article fails to illustrate how Obama’s advocacy for gay marriage has been an all out frontal attack on Christians in America.
He’s more comfortable in his skin flint in this environment.

Evolving a position suits pols who study the polls. But I prefer those who proclaim moral absolutes. I don’t expect them to behave perfectly but at least they can vote right and stand firm on some basic principles.

Exactly, I look for a candidate who can lead us, who can articulate our politics and explain why conservatism is the answer, not a guy who is opposing our politics, and saying we must adopt the political positions of the other side.
If Obama were a thinking man, with actual opinions, who actually ever listened to anyone’s arguments, this article could be somewhat interesting.
Since he is a rigid, Marxist, baby-killing, malignant narcissist, his opinions don’t evolve. Only his chameleon-like public position evolve, and those are entirely explainable by his long-term objective: punishing, enslaving, and killing as many Americans as possible, and handing America over to the Red Chinese, the Eurocrats, and the Russians.
Banging Michelle is the same as guy on guy sex so he figured what the hell.
With a mind as weak as his, that's not saying much.
I watched a video on YT showing that Michelle is Michael. Pretty convincing.
So there’s one point about Biden and his supposed epiphany when he met the homosexual family.
Then the other four points show Obama’s cynical shapeshifting on the issue. He flat out lied about his true position and used his supposed Christian faith as cover. He lied because he felt black and Catholic turnout would be weakened if he didn’t.
He found out Moochelle is really a man?

I’m sure the children are “reinforced” when they say, “I wish I had a mother.” (/s)
