House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) is "hellbent" on passing amnesty legislation, and other GOP leaders are signaling to donors and lobbyists that they also want to pass legislation this Congress, even though attempting to do so would depress the GOP base and create divisions within the party ahead of 2014's midterm elections that could give Republicans control of Congress.

I think that’s their best political bet unless the GOP is truly suicidal about upsetting base voters before the election.

If they pass it after the midterms, the suicides might not just be metaphorical.

Why worry about nuclear war with the Russians when we can destroy our own country from within?

I have to wonder if the republicans hadn’t taken the house in 2010 would obama have been elected? The same when they took over congress in Bill Clinton’s third year.

Back in the Clinton era, they actually had some conservative leanings, so when Gingrich turned the economy around, the media ensured that Clinton got all the credit.

The media is brutal to the republicans whether they do right or wrong. In this instance they are wrong, and that’s probably why the media cheerleads them to get amnesty done.

Rather than bad-mouth the media, the republicans need to find a work-around and just do it no matter how much extra work it is to get their message out. New media, flyers, posters, precinct chairmen, churches, clubs, etc., are ways to get their message out, but they’re insistent on big buys of advertising as the only way to do information combat.

The media is NOT going to be on the conservative side unless they found and build their own to a competitive level. Fox News has already turned to the dark side on so many issues.

We should start again from the bottom up: county commissioners, state reps and senators, school boards, etc.

“Business leaders” Have committed crimes by working illegal aliens instead of Americans willfully and need prosecution and jail. Boner needs to have been kicked out and replaced with a conservatives.
I think with rampant lawlessness by the government aided and abetted by hopeless “pod People” like boner that we will not obey laws we don’t like. It is happening now.

Boehner is a useless you know what. He’s in the same mode as a Bob Michel, Gerald Ford, Everett Dirksen, and other GOP RINO leaders of the past in congress who would cave in more often than not to the Dems and give only a token effort to being the loyal opposition. We don’t need this bipartisan nonsense anymore. The US Congress is being overrun by Rats and RINOS who are spending and regulating this nation to economic oblivion. They’re the biggest threats to our nation’s future and we need to fumigate DC and drive all these political parasites out of town. Boehner is as much to blame as any Democrat for our current state of affairs.
