Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) criticized the federal response to rancher Cliven Bundy, becoming the first GOP 2016 presidential hopeful to weigh in on the issue.

Paul slammed the federal government’s show of force in the dispute, which culminated in a standoff at Bundy’s ranch between police and his supporters, including armed members of militia groups.

Bundy is refusing to pay grazing fees for his cattle, which for decades have grazed on federal land. Paul sided with Bundy in that fight, arguing that Nevada and local authorities should control the land.

Will Reid order the Capitol police to arrest Rand Paul?

If not, he should shut his mouth.

The situation is that the Feds are violating the constitution and attempting to enforce the unconstitutional situation which is beyond their jurisdiction.

A recall a few showed up for the D.C. park service memorial shutdowns...How convenient.../sarc

Can you imagine what would have happened if the BLM thugs had killed a few politicians??? Wait, don’t answer that yet...;-)

Oh, I guess that makes us "domestic terrorists" or at least sympathizers.

Shove it, Reid.

The Feds will never understand the support the Bundy family has in western rural America. Claude Dallas had the support of the majority of Great Basin ranchers and he killed a couple of hated game wardens near Paradise Valley, NV. They were trying to keep Dallas from earning a living as he violated game laws. The Bundys are far more sympathetic than Dallas.

Agreed. Liberty from the government will be initiated and won by the average, ordinary American; not by our politicians or the ballot box.

Somehow I missed your on-site report. Which one of the good guys were you? Please post a picture of yourself shaking hands with Mr. Bundy.

There is no reason why Paul and Congress can't sell the land to Nevada or Bundy. They alone have the power to dispose of federal property.

Right, and in theory, that land should be the property of “We the People”, of course, it is not that simple however, the US Govt. should be more of stewards of the land.

Shouldn't it be "We the People of the United States" who own the land? Not "We the People of Nevada"? I have no problem with the land being sold to the states or the people in them. In fact with unimproved land like that not being used for a national park or military or some similar purpose, states should be allowed to do sort of a reverse eminent domain and purchase it from the federal government at fair market value and the government should be forced to prove in court there was a valid reason for not selling.

Well, Harry Reid, I guess it's time for you to step up, and order the DHS to arrest Rand Paul.

Your move, f***wad.

Most GOP lawmakers have steered clear of the fight

Typical. So far I'm most impressed with Rand. He actually believes in wrenching this country out of the hands of the 6$ trillion mega monster federal government and giving back to the states and us.
