Putin's Office Threatens To Mobilize | 2014-04-18 19:26:13
In a significant escalation of rhetoric, not only does Putin's press secretary admit that there are Russian troops on the border with Ukraine, but he says that they are there to respond if Russia is driven "into a corner." RFE/RL reports:
Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov has confirmed that Russia does have troops near the Ukrainian border and that some of those forces are stationed there "on a permanent basis."
Peskov said additional forces are in the area along Russia's border with Ukraine but only "as reinforcement aganst the background of what is going on in Ukraine."
Peskov also said Washington's threats of additional sanctions against Russia if Moscow does not adhere to the terms of an agreement reached yesterday in Gevena between top diplomats from Russia, Ukraine, the United States, and European Union were "absolutely unacceptable."
"We can mobilize our whole society if someone starts driving Russia into a corner," he said. "Thank God, it is impossible to drive Russia into a corner."
Previous to this, the Russian line has been that the troops were there as part of drills that are unrelated to the crisis in Ukraine. To our knowledge, the troop deployment has not changed, just the way Moscow is now talking about them.
Who is going to stop him?
No man alive. That’s why we need to pray for Ukraine.
It’s Obama’s fault for mentioning sanctions.
I’d say drive them into the corner.
Alert Andrews, King Barry is going on vacation again.
That’s not very friendly of them...
What a mess.
Remember a time when was working with a number of people that ran an office on wheels. Traveled everywhere and yes everyone stated our office is on wheels. Phone, pull down writing pad, pen, pager, etc.
“Thank God, it is impossible to drive Russia into a corner.”
It’s nice for a leader to reference God. Our dear communist leader would praise Allah.
yep had one of those in vehicle too. Thanks JRandom! A stapler was a must while being in a mobile office on wheels. Had a hole punch that came in handy every once in a while. Gee ... those were the days of gloom. Never saw the family unless flew them to where was or flew to them.
Should I mention the Irony of Russia reinforcing its own border, while DC leaves our own southern border wide open?
Put a case of Ruskova there.
“Id say drive them into the corner.”
Yeah, that’s smart, considering the whole episode is a creation of the U.S. State Department under Obama, and they have NUCLEAR WEAPONS...
Do you have a supplied bunker? Or will you be out fighting with the unwashed for the last scrapes of food in the radioactive dumpster?
Gosh ... I know this is a serious situation but at least everything and everyone will glow in the dark. That might be a plus?
“Who is going to stop him?”
Well, we have a striped down military with no CIC... Guess we can’t help.
My point exactly.
I doubt it.
I was a local CD assistant for several months, before they did away with local CD in the late 70’s. (Family political connections, empty slot, part-time HS job)
Because of that, I have an acute awareness of what a nuclear exchange could mean, and even that is probably rosier than it would be in reality.
Russian officials have mentioned more than once during this episode that they are a “Nuclear Nation”. We have inept leadership in DC bungling their way through this thing.
It does give me pause.
I agree tcrlaf. I do not realize how terrible things can become and believe none of us (the living) have any type of realization should this escalate to conflict between nation where there are nuclear exchanges what terrible realities would exist. Am keeping myself aware, as best as can, of the dangers and yes you also have my agreement that D.C. continues to bungle their way through this. Surprisingly though, am keeping calm in spite of the bungling. I guess it is because I saw the Cuban Missile crisis as it unfolded. Don’t know for certain if that is reason am remaining calm but am calm. Truly believe my Faith in God and a better tomorrow has much to do in keeping me calm.
I seem to remember a certain Russian backed leader looting billions from the Ukrainian economy, stripping the military, and generally being an all around bad guy and killer, being the root cause behind the Maidan.
The Russkies have entire military treatises on winning a nuclear war. They do not share the Western phobia to a nuclear exchange, or, perhaps, they do take it more seriously, as they have been preparing to survive a nuclear exchange for many many years. Unlike us, the Russians have a trained population and nuclear fallout shelters with plenty of supplies. We have nothing, because stupid liberals AND so called conservatives do not believe in military preparedness.
Putin and his gang are fornicators and occultists. Take the reference to God as more accidental.
If you think this is just about Ukraine, you haven’t been paying attention.
I forgot the Kremlin-goons on FR are impervious to reality. A conspiracy theory that depends on bad guys to cease to exist doesn't have a lot of weight.
Don’t worry and stay calm, please. MADD and Sampson exists fully. It would be stupid of anyone or any nation to force or participate in a nuclear exchange. Nobody wins. Weapons these days in the nuclear arena are beyond our comprehension. Takes only a few to be released and the destruction is beyond comprehension for each of us. Prayers such an exchange never occurs for then nightmares will come true. Till then I’ll stay calm. You do the same friend, please.
You forget that you are a product of western liberalism, even as a conservative. The culture is saturated with it. The Russians and Chicoms do not think in these ways, and are on record saying so, and have been preparing themselves to practice what they preach. They are committed to the collapse of liberal democracy and to the ascendancy of Caesarism.
Doesn’t bother me. I’m as safe as I’ve always been. They only remain safe till they do something of a nuclear release just like us.
You are not safe. You are a target for murder. You would have better luck preaching to the Martians about the woes of global warming, than you would in trying to understand the Russians by assuming they possess your mentality and your harmlessness.
Eating too many of those brownies getting you all paranoid again?
So do you recommend I or the United States strike first? Have always been a target for murder friend, but I still carry on with my life. I’m not worried and you should not be either for the time being. All is as well as is. Sit back, observe and enjoy being with family. I’m not in control and neither is anyone on this planet, believe it or not. Leaders come and go but there is one constant that nobody survives living on this planet or there will be only those chosen to survive living on this planet. I’ll be one should God Will it to be. Nothing more, nothing less. Argument on this issue does not solve what will be or not be. I’ll do what I can as one person. Wish I had something of wisdom to say but not being a wise person my words are simply my words.
“Putin and his gang are fornicators and occultists.”
And you have personal information you would like to share?
Personal information? Putin divorced his wife on the grounds that he didn't marry her in the church. Soft looking conscripts in the Russian army are raped by their officers, and this is protected by the regime. There are scholarly articles on the issue of the occult and its prevalence in Russian culture, even to the highest levels. Start with Aleksandr Dugin, the founder of the "Eurasian movement," who has ties to the Kremlin and appears on Russian state run television. He's advocated Aleister Crowley, and believes in all sorts of weird, Nazi-Like religious and ethnic theories. It's worth noting that part of his ideology involves taking over Georgia, Ukraine, and other former Russian bloc states. Russian generals, intellectuals, politicians, are into Shamanism, Theosophy, and all sorts of stupid stuff. And, unfortunately, it is highly popular within the common society too.
I think you should put your energies towards advocating for military preparedness, patriotism, and anti-communism. It is not a coincidence that Putin is "former" KGB, and Russia is still aiding and abetting communist states and terror groups across the world. It's what's kept us alive so far. It's the lack of doing so that has left us in this vulnerable condition.
“the Kremlin-goons on FR”
I’m in the middle of an Indiana cornfield. Any more trolling you’d like to do?
And with the stink of vodka, considering your posts.
Your full of sh!t, your feet stink and you don’t love Jesus...
Seriously. Is that all you’ve got?
“And with the stink of vodka, considering your posts.”
lol... You found the one that doesn’t drink.
Your projections are getting more unstable. I’d suggest your local mental health service.
OK,but it’s still better than what we have to offer...
Last I checked, Ted Cruz or Sarah Palin weren't Neo-fascists preaching about the Ayran tribe or spreading occult ideals, or being members of the communist party. Though, the Communist Party USA is shilling for the reds. Trevour Loudon, on his blog, has a nice video of one of their speeches defending Putin. They understand what you do not, although, they LIKE it.
An inability to provide any substance and a blind defense of the Kremlin and its propaganda line is far greater evidence of mental illness. Seriously, stop spamming me with posts that contain no substance.
Jack Bauer is back....damnit! Heh......
One can but wish that a hero such as Jack existed.
What are these mobile offices?
Jack Bauer would have this situation solved in one hour, two at the most!
Mr. h and I were looking at a Nat. Geo. map of Russia and surrounding countries.
Lots of countries for Putin Picking and become BFF with Middle East and China. The music stopped, everyone grabbed a chair but there were no chairs left to sit in for the US.....
Never had any other goals nor dedicated myself to anything else except family, God and country.
Should one have been involved in a mobile office, one may have not have enjoyed the experience. I did not enjoy being constantly mobile because I had family and a small child. Was difficult being away from home. My mobile office was a vehicle where only two to three could ride comfortably. Normally there was only one person riding, in my office, and it was me. Covered many states and could never keep up. One fire (situation problem) after another. My work, during that period, was retail. Was on call 24/7 and normally had to work 24/7 to maintain a handle on all the problems. But nobody can work a constant 24/7. The only times I ever wound up sick was when went on vacation with family. There was never time to become sick on the job. We had a motto ... You can be sick and die when you catch up and have everything under control otherwise report for work and suck it up.
We can safely scratch out the country and family part of your sentence, seeing as how both would suffer under a Russian attack, which they are, I assure you, planning for.
Sorry ... I’m not going to hide and live in fear. Do what you like.
