"What do you know about the Sun, if you've never been in mine!"

Chairman of the Independent Trade Union of Miners of Ukraine Mykhailo Volynets called the statement of Russian President Vladimir Putin relatively Ukrainian miners cynical.

During straight line with the Russians and residents of Crimea, Putin said that the sea on the peninsula is very dirty and there bathe drunken miners.

"This is a cynical attitude brazen man who believes that he reckless. Miners - noble people and they just despise such a man," - said in comments Volinets TSN.ua about saying Putin tells Tsenzor.NET. In his words, the miners throughout the world work hard and do not see the sky and the sun , because they appreciate the rest. And the tradition of rest they already established.

"For example, come to the surface and smoke or take butylek if a team event. They have a way of communicating. They do not get a lot of money to go to restaurants. They go to the gate or on the lawn. But you can not say that miners drunkards.

"It's very frustrating,"- says Volynets. He added that now the vacation of miners and their families, who paid proper attention will be held abroad. According to him, now considering options for Bulgaria and Turkey. Due to the unstable situation in the Crimea, but for our Goryanka likely rest there will not be.

Tsenzor.NET previously reported that the miners have decided to protect their mine from terrorists. Source : http://censor.net.ua/n281871

At least it proves that Putin is no Communist.

Under Communism, miners were given special treatment, propaganda regularly elevated them to “hero” status.

“At least it proves that Putin is no Communist.”

Like most totalitarian politicians and wannabes, they are whatever they have to be to obtain power. There were plenty of Marxist/communist ideologues in the USSR, but not all who held the reigns of power were ideologues as much as opportunists.

—yeah—but here in the U.S. , the miners are unable to protect their livelihood as it is part of Obama’s plan to destroy it—enforced by the EPA—

Probably didn't improve the appalling conditions.

Pro Russian propaganda has become more sophisticated over the years while anti Russian propaganda has become cartoonish and ineffective.

Hero status is nonsense but, both here and in Russia, respect for people who do physically demanding and dangerous work would be proper.

Anti-Russian propaganda is happy to use this Putin slip, but Putin is the one who said it. I’m leaning towards this being a slip-up on his part, because it doesn’t make much sense for Russia to alienate potential allies like the coal-miners in Donbas.

Google translate is a little bit weak in the article, but Putin’s response about Crimea was that Crimea as a tourist destination is not up to Russian standards and the facilities are in the state of disrepair - “when the miners came in, it’s all the same to them, they got drunk and went to the beach”.

Also to consider, Donbas (the region where Russian soldiers are running around with guns looking for popular support) is THE Coal-Mining Country, they are a major force in the region. It makes little sense for Putin to call them drunks. Maybe he just lashes out because they didn’t support the Russian Liberation plan, don’t know.

Or maybe he’s past appealing to anyone in Ukraine, he’s just doing his own thing
