The Wall Street Journal reported last night that House Speaker John Boehner told donors at a fundraiser last month in Las Vegas that he was hellbent on getting this done this year, in reference to an amnesty/immigration bill. His spokesman did not dispute the account.
In related news, President Obama is meeting with the National Commander of the American Legion this morning. Ordinarily, that would mean little, but the meeting comes just days after the Legion came out against a plan to amnesty illegal aliens who join the military. The number of people who would benefit from such an amnesty is miniscule (and theres already a statutory means of allowing them to enlist), so why would the president take time out to summon the head of the Legion for a tiny, redundant immigration provision?
Because its a Trojan Horse if its included in the must-pass defense authorization bill when its sent to the Senate, Harry Reid can expand it into a larger amnesty confident in the knowledge that it would have to be passed. Ive been told by a Republican House member that the Democrat (and, presumably, hellbent House leadership) plan is to add the entire DREAM Act to the defense bill once it gets to the Senate I guess that adding the entire Gang of Eight bill would be a bridge too far even for Boehner and Cantor.
What makes you think that Speaker Boehner and his posse want a border fence any more than Pelosi, Reid, Obama and Schumer do?
Thanks.
I remain in observation mode. So far still very positive on Cruz.
Republican suicide.

Nope. Just plain suicide......
I dont see any example of Ted Cruz stepping out of a reasonable position.
Not saying hes right. Not saying hes wrong. But I have yet to see any examples of him being wrong on this.
Still waiting for real evidence.
