Russia's foreign ministry has expressed outrage at a fatal shooting incident in eastern Ukraine which it blamed on Ukrainian nationalists.

Russian state media reported that five people were killed in a gun attack on a checkpoint manned by pro-Russian activists near the town of Sloviansk.

Ukrainian officials said one died in a clash between "two groups of citizens".

The incident comes as pro-Russian groups continue to occupy government buildings defying a deal to leave.

Etrogrul Apakan, who heads the special mission of the Organization for Cooperation and Security in Europe in Kiev, said his deputy would be in Donetsk to try to get them to comply with an agreement reached on Thursday to ease the crisis......

....”The Olympics were a time when Russia was putting on a show for the world in Sochi. Russia wanted to look good in the eyes of the world and the notion they would do something to look bad makes absolutely no sense”......

But it was a time when the Eu/Nato/Us could take advantage of this...and go for the Gold of toppling Kiev. Russia was otherwise occupied so they thought.

I still stand on the fact those now in Government in Kiev aren’t about to let anything stand in their way of maintaining the power they have currently secured. Which is why they soon stated they would not go further with the EU/NAto/US plan....

These characters will create any discord to remain in place in order to delay any election until they have consolidated their power. IMO this is what is happening in Kiev...and that would include creating armed incidents to keep the nation unstable.

When you look at what this governing body is doing, not saying, but doing the picture becomes clear....

....”Russians, get the hell out of Ukraine”....

Well that's not going to happen when Russia is the only nation there to handle this situation if it erupts further into civil war...no doubt nation leaders have agreed that Russia will go in should things escalate too far.....because Russia is there to do that...NATO can't and won't they have there hands full guarding the Nato member states.

It does look like Putin's going to be calling the shots in Ukraine if things escalate to civil war among the people there...currently imo it's between the Kiev government and those who oppose that leadership....and they aren't going to step down, rather retain their leadership and consolidate...so creating an unstable Ukraine only benefits the current Kiev Government...who do not want to see an election and loose their power.

The fog of war is thick enough to make us all blind. Who knows what happened. Ukrainian army killing Russian rebels? Ukrainian irregulars killing Russians? A criminal hit that both sides are using for their propaganda? A black ops operation from either side?

“no doubt nation leaders have agreed that Russia will go in should things escalate too far”

Well, since Russia is doing the escalating and provoking, that is a guarantee.

“NATO can’t and won’t they have there hands full guarding the Nato member states.”

NATO can.......and won’t. But other pressures will be exacted upon Russia. Russia is no match for NATO and the US, even KGB Putin understands this.

If NATO came to Ukraine’s defense, Putin would be moaning at the UN just like the Muzzies do when Israel retaliates.

The problem is Obama and the EU realized Yanukovich was a Russia puppet. They figured that the guy would side with the Russians in any upcoming elections. So they sent over Victoria Nuland and some rabble rousers, to foment a coup and oust Yanukovich while the Olympics were going figuring Putin would do little because he was wanting to make a show of the Olympics. Of course it is typical that the US/EU sidle up to any parties in the area to achieve their goals. They really care not if the people are incompetent boobs as long as they do the job and allow them to install a US/EU puppet. I think that the EU didn’t like who the US chose to run Ukraine and protested. Mabe that is what prompted Nuland to say in a secret call that was recorded “fu*k the EU”

Putin knew what they were up to and the rest is well known. Thing is, nobody knows what would have happened, that is would Putin do what he has done if it weren’t for the coup? Chances are he might have at sometime time, but who knows at this point? He may have been happy with a sympathetic government rather than taking Crimea and a probable threat to Ukraine now.

What difference at this point does it really make? I bet Hillary would say that. Ya think?

Its a fact the obama administration helped set the collapse of the ukraine in motion. No doubt those blackwater or whatever they are calling themselves are heavily involved in causing this mess. The Russians are guilty too but most of their actions are reactions to obamas screwed up cia and blackops programs. Remember, we are an oligarchy. Dem or rep, doesn’t matter in the big scheme. Obama and boehner all bow to the same throne. Take a guess who is sitting on it.

You are on the money dforest. If we would stop sticking our nose in these situations, including all the arab spring incidents, the world would be a very stable and relatively peaceful place right now. However the united states is now the great fermentor of chaos in the world. Unbeleivably we have become the greatest threat to peace by doing these things. We have become death, destroyer of worlds so to speak. And adding to our sin as a nation we are exporting decadence, homosexuality, violence, etc. God have mercy on us when judgement day comes, which it soon will.

Russian propaganda sets new records. LifeNews shows the incident of ‘Right Sector attacking unarmed separatists in Sloviansk’ which happened at 3AM on April 20 - with crisp dollars, Yarosh’s business card, and ammunition on the scene. One small ‘OOPS’ -

It seems the video was uploaded on April 19. Oops!

Idiot post of the day. Conspiracy wack-a-mole post of the day. That’s a heckuva job. Congrats. But fear not, useful idiots are always required for the Putin’s of the day.

You could also get Ironic name of the day...but we must be patient.

We are being drug into something, it seems.

We do have Uniparty government in Washington right now with the only outside criticism coming from folks like Ted Cruz, Sarah Palin or Rand Paul.

The budget now in place is a deal between Congressman Paul Ryan of the R’s and Senator Patty Murray of the D’s.

It cuts military pensions, extended unemployment and creates new taxes called “airline fees”.

Its a European style austerity budget aimed at debt management and speaking of debt management notice how the Uniparty got together recently to raise this nation’s credit card limit (debt ceiling).

The agreement is retarded. It included the EU, the USA, Russia, Kiev, etc. The only people not consulted were the locals who were actually occupying the buildings. They cant exactly break an agreement that they weren’t party to.

All the others just agreed upon what the people in the building should do,,, freaking insane.

However, Russian military planners are almost certainly advising Vladimir Putin that, although an incursion with a strictly limited objective against weak defences might easily be achieved, occupying a large tract of land against the wishes of most of the people who live there is far harder. Getting bogged down and exposed to attacks by Ukrainian irregular forces would be all too likely. Stationing lots of troops in Ukraine indefinitely would have ramifications elsewhere, stretching forces in volatile regions such as the north Caucasus and Central Asia. On top of this, Mr Putin cannot be entirely confident about how his forces would perform. Their post-Georgia modernisation is a work in progress, with poor command and control and logistics hampered by incompatible equipment.

According to a recent biography of Mr Putin, one of his first KGB instructors complained that he had “a lowered sense of danger”. Faced with a decision to send his forces into Ukraine or stand them down, it is possible that not even he yet knows which he will choose. http://www.economist.com/news/briefing/21601050-russia-would-find-holding-territory-ukraine-harder-taking-it-gathering-storm?fsrc=scn/tw/te/pe/gatheringstorm

“Pro Russian” and manning a checkpoint inside Ukraine.

I’m not saying you deserve to die, but it won’t be prudent to get some life insurance.

There was no “unrest” in this area of Ukraine until...

... the current people in Kiev did exactly what they’re killing these people for?
