China will be the "world's most Christian nation" in 15 years, according to a report from the London Sunday Telegraph.
"It is going to be less than a generation. Not many people are prepared for this dramatic change," Fenggang Yang, a leading expert on religion in China, told the newspaper.
There are about 1.3 billion people living in the country, and in 2010, 58 million of them were Protestant Christians.
Yang, a professor of sociology at Purdue University and author of Religion in China: Survival and Revival under Communist Rule, estimated that by 2025, the number of Christians will have skyrocketed to 160 million.
It's estimated China's total Christian population, including Catholics, will hit 247 million by 2030, passing the United States, Mexico, and Brazil as the largest Christian nation in the world.
Officially, the People's Republic of China is still an atheist country. The government allows official churches to meet, and there is a growing underground church movement that can't be contained.
"Mao thought he could eliminate religion. He thought he had accomplished this. It's ironic - they didn't. They actually failed completely," Yang said, referring to Mao Zedong.
Mao was chairman of the Communist Party of China until his death in 1976.

Lets see would Chinese statesmen replace communism with Christianity, if nothing just to use it as stabilizing and unifying factor of nation.
Always good to have the state define what a particular religion is all about. The Soviet Union (formerly known as Russia) did and does it, Hitler did it, Saudi Arabia does it
And they will be rewarded by God and become the most dominant nation on the Earth.

There are some of Chinese Christians even here in Serbia.
Chinese are merchants and shop keepers that were “imported” my state agreement of Milosevic and China.
Christian Chinese are different bunch than other ones, pleasant, nice, trying to fit in.
It was Christmas eve, December (Serbs celebrate Jan.6th) and all of the Chinese shops were open. Except for one held by Christians.
No wonder Obama is switching his focus to China. As a good Muslim he has to get in there and stop Christian heresy from becoming a factor in peoples lives.
Pearl S. Buck, author said in her book on China that she had hopes of this coming Christianity in the future of China. Her parents were missionaries and although American she grew up in China.
When I buy a religious article made in China, I always pray for the person(s) who made it.
Meanwhile, by 2030, most of the population of a fractured, rapidly declining, islamizing America will be completely clueless as to how this all came to pass..

Sorry, but the “most Christian” country is the one with the highest percentage of Christians, one where Christianity is important in the culture and society.
It is not one where they are still a small minority, simply because the country is so big that the absolute number of Christians is also large.
The Chinese government has been slowly loosening their hold on Christians over the years. The greatest fear of the government is that a group will want to overthrow them. However, they consistently find that the local Christians are cooperative, friendly, and even have a genuine love for their country (the country not necessarily the ruling government). Because of all that, the government is realizing the Christians are not the worst threat to them and are slowly looking elsewhere.
I pray it continues that way. What a world we live in if one day more Christian missionaries are sent out from China than the US.
