BOB DOLE SAYS US SHOULD SEND WEAPONS TO UKRAINE
Breitbart/AP ^ | Apr 21, 2014 | staff

Former Republican presidential nominee Bob Dole said Monday that the U.S. should send weapons, including tanks, to Ukraine to help it resist Russia's moves on its territory and to send Russian President Vladimir Putin a strong message.

The 90-year-old Republican Party icon and former U.S. Senate majority leader said Putin "has sort of sized up" Democratic President Barack Obama and "concluded that he's not a strong leader."

Dole's comments came as Vice President Joe Biden began a high-profile visit to Ukraine and only days after an announcement in Geneva that talks between Ukraine, Russia, the United States and the European Union produced an agreement to take tentative steps toward calming a volatile situation in eastern Ukraine. Last month, Russia annexed the Crimean Peninsula, which had been Ukrainian territory.

Dole made his remarks during a reception at the local GOP headquarters in the Kansas City suburb of Overland Park, the first of 10 homecoming receptions in his native state over three days. He discussed Ukraine at the prompting of Kansas Republican Gov. Sam Brownback, himself a former U.S. senator.

Dole became a republican icon after it was his turn to become the “republican nominee” for president. Personally, I didn’t vote for him. I stayed home that year. He said if he lost he’d go back home and retire in Russell, Kansas. He lied.

And by the way, Bob Dole didn’t have a garage door opener.

Two generations of ethnic Ukrainians have been taught to hate the Russians. It has made for a civil war and we have no business being involved.

The cruds that have taken over the government...as they see fit...are the same antagonists of the 2004 Revolution.

Ukraine has not done well as an independent country. It's a mess.

Wow. We are digging up Bob Dole? I had to stop and think about whether or not they actually had to dig him up.

It’s ok Bob. Warner’s on. Go get your bib on while I blend up dinner.

The Ukraine could easily create an insurgency for the Russians by simply adopting an amendment to their constitution that affirm that the people have a right to keep and bear arms. They have stockpiles of Mosin-Nagant rifles and ammunition that could be passed out to every adult male in their country and it would cost the state nothing to do so.

Let him grab a rifle and go there.
What if the Russians decides to retaliate and support cartels or Atzlan movement in the Southwest with lethal armaments? With a southern border like that it would be a disaster, eclipsing every possible development in Europe.

Do you really think it is a possibility? You clearly can’t see a new Ukrainian government for that it is. Right now they are actively looking to disarm everyone, including groups who brought them to power.

Draft Bob Dole!
VP McCain

They're old! They're bold! They're experienced!

Karl Rove can use that line absolutely gratis!

Actually, the RNC can save a lot of money by going with these two wizened seasoned campaigners. No need to spend any money at all.

My bi-partisan recommendation is that the Democrats run Joe Biden for POTUS, with Michelle as Veep. 2016 could be our most interesting election ever!

We’re sending blankets, MREs and sleeping bags to a country being invaded by a hostile neighbor. “nonlethal aid” only, according to the administration. What a joke we’ve become internationally. It’s sad that even freepers are cheerleading this nonsense.

“Two generations of ethnic Ukrainians have been taught to hate the Russians. It has made for a civil war and we have no business being involved. “

There is no “civil war” in ukraine, and there hasn’t even been one full generation since the USSR dissolved. Just stop.
