Obama is Bursting the Left's Bubbles
American Thinker ^ | 4-23-2014 | J.R. Dunn

Posted on 04/23/2014 4:05:29 AM PDT by servo1969

To examine a few examples, we’ll start with the military illusion -- namely, that it is U.S. power that causes all wars. This is derived quite simply from Marxist-Leninist theory: wars are a byproduct of “capitalism.” The U.S., as the premier “capitalist” state, is ipso facto, the cause of war.

This is the primum mobile of the modern American left, the driver of such people as Michael Moore, Oliver Stone, and Medea Benjamin. There is a list that circulates throughout the left, consisting of the countries “invaded” by the U.S. in the 20th century. The list includes such nations as France, the Netherlands, Belgium, and the Philippines in 1944. The fact that most leftists have no idea what was going in 1944 is beside the point. Those countries were invaded, and the U.S. done it. End of story. The same is true of Grenada, Kuwait, and Iraq in later years.

So Obama’s debasing of the U.S. military was one of the most welcome elements of his ascension to office (long with the introduction of PC into the military, and enforcing feminist and racist dogma). Iraq and Afghanistan have been abandoned, deployment of missile defenses in Central Europe was cancelled, Obama has devoted himself to “leading from behind,” with results more disastrous than any since the 60s. The oafish Chuck Hagel was appointed secretary of defense, announcing recently that the Army would be cut to pre-WW II level (in the midst of ongoing hostilities), the Tomahawk and Hellfire missiles -- the most successful guided missiles in the arsenal of any nation in history -- are to cease production, not to mention contemptuous cuts in military benefits that are somehow not matched by any similar cuts for public-sector unions.

Hate to disagree, but the Left’s bubbles never burst. If the atrocities and fall of communism in the last century didn’t wake them up, nothing will.

As the author said, the true believers will go back into hiding waiting for their messiah. But the rest of the populace will learn that leftism doesn’t work at all.

So the bubbles burst for much of the population.

“As the author said, the true believers will go back into hiding waiting for their messiah. But the rest of the populace will learn that leftism doesn’t work at all”

I’m afraid those in our society who never learned personal accountability, and who gladly subsist on payments from the government forcibly taken from producing citizens, will believe in leftism as long as the checks keep flowing. A fourth or fifth generation welfare recipient lacks the cultural support, education, values, and life skills to create a self sustaining life off the government plantation.

Like all human beings these dependents of the state will act in their own self interests by perpetually voting for politicians who support redistribution programs. To do otherwise would be suicidal. The growth of the dependent underclass, nurtured by leftists, is a huge cancer eating away at our culture, economic system, and representative government. Neither political party has a plan or concept for doing anything but perpetuating existing programs and creating new ones.

Those atrocities and failures were because the wrong people were trying to implement socialism/communism.

Obama was supposed to be “the one” to do it “right”. And it was supposed to work!

So, their bubble is burst on Obama being “the one to do it right”, but, as you say, they won’t give up on their utopian fantasy.

...(it has long been understood that leftism is essentially the politicization of petty personal grievances). Living in leftist bubbles -- whether feminist, racial, academic, communist, or what have you -- amounts to a way of life for millions of Americans.

J.R. Dunn's insightful ... great post servo - thanks.

Bursting bubbles is what obama's ideology is all about, like with the credit and real estate bubbles that popped in 2008, and obama has the pumps running full time to prepare another round of bubbles for US.

You have to be a progressive to not to notice how we're being set up for the next round of bubble bursting and how we likely won't come through the next set in one piece.

Just like the ideology of the one known as "obama" hollows out one's spirit and soul, it is also hollowing out the purse, power and soul of our once great nation. That's what it's all about.

Not only is the Army being cut to pre-WW II levels and our most successful guided missiles, the Tomahawk and Hellfire, to cease production, our credit rating has been decimated and the trust in our dollar and in our nation's ability to honor our agreements and commitments has been emptied of value, just as Ft. Knox has been slowly and steadily emptied of the nation's gold since the early 1990s.

When the next attack like that of 2008 hits US, we and our dumbed down, weakened, unprepared and dependent population will be brought to our collective knees.

That's when all sorts of bubbles will be bursting. The marxist left will have won and their utopia here realized.

If history can be our guide, it won't be long before Hitler, Stalin and Mao will be joined in infamy by another.

That article is a bit vague on why they “have a problem” with Obastard, but my working theory is they’re angry that he is not sufficiently socialist for them. This is hardly cause for hope, because they sure as HECK aren’t going to break our way.

I'm sure all of those on the left are thrilled with Obama's domestic spying, including the press, international scandals, i.e. Benghazi, Fast and Furious, etc. Killing a United States citizen, Anwar al-Awlaki in a drone strike in Yemen. Da yutes don't care care for gun grabbing either.

You can never burst these people’s bubbles. They have no shame, they have no intellectual honesty and they despise all of the laws of nature God has constrained us to.

I hope you're right, but I'm not that hopeful anymore. They voted for one "obama", they'll vote for another.

The marxist based, time tested campaign promises and slogans are reused over and over again by the left and by GOP establishment rinos.

Other than a slight, but temporary change thanks to Reagan, the underlying movement never stalls for long, if it's not already self-sustaining now.

We've been carefully setup for decades and now are happy, blissful dependents slouching to the abattoir.

Imagine our surprise...

Nope. Obama is still the one, but unfortunately the evil Republicans in the House are gridlocking him because they don't want to see a Black Man succeed.

Liberals believe that

The Left's bubble cannot be burst because they are rooted in fantasy, not reality.

Otherwise they would have learned something from the collapse of socialism in eastern Europe, not to mention the various massacres, genocides and pogroms of communist countries.
