No Reason to Doubt US Running the Show in Ukraine Lavrov
RiaNovosti ^ | 4-23-2014 | Vitaly Belousov

The visit of US Vice President Joseph Biden to Kiev this week and the subsequent restart of a military operation against protesters is evidence the US is controlling the actions of Ukrainian authorities, Russian Foreign Minister Segei Lavrov said Wednesday.

“Now that Joe Biden visited Kiev this counterterrorist operation was declared in the active phase again,” Lavrov said during an English-language interview with the RT news channel.

“It’s quite telling that they chose the moment of the Vice President of the United States to announce the resumption of this operation, because the launching of this operation happened immediately after [CIA Director] John Brennan’s visit to Kiev,” the foreign minister said.

“So I don’t have any reasons not to believe that the Americans are running the show in a very close way,” he added.

US Vice President Joseph Biden arrived in Kiev on a two-day visit Monday to meet with Ukrainian authorities as the country struggles to find a way out of a deep economic and political crisis.

Gee... The Russians have noticed that when a high-level administration person visits Ukraine, they announce military operations immediately after. Well, this won't be making tonight's NBC Evening News, will it.

The Russians have become very clear about who they believe has been manipulating events in Ukraine.

Note those "new, tough sanctions" we heard so much about during the weekend haven't been announced yet?

How insulting. If Obama can’t run the operations in Afghanistan, let alone Chicago, how’s he going to have any influence in the Ukraine? Incompetence has to count for something.

The Russians have become very clear about who they believe has been manipulating events in Ukraine.

They were making these allegations from the beginning, even when their "little green men" in Crimea were still being described as "militia," but which later became 'Russian troops' after the conquest was over and done with. Meanwhile, the same guys who were in Crimea, literally in photographs seen in both locals, are back to "militia" again, and are conducting coordinated kidnappings in East Ukraine now of loyal elected officials and journalists. Two bodies were already found, with signs of torture, fished out of the river.

That certainly would explain why Ukraine’s policy is so confused and ineffective.

Biden is just a sock puppet for Obummer and Obummer can’t run anything, maybe that’s why there’s so much confusion and trouble in the Ukraine.

Tying the two events together is likely a step too far. It is a civil war now.

As I have said, Ukraine didn’t happen in a vacuum. Russian Intelligence likely knew early on what was happening, and made contingencies for action should it happen. That they have acted to protect Russian interests shouldn’t surprise anybody.

And they have enough precedent from the west (Tunisia,Libya,Kosovo,Egypt, etc) to justify it, in their minds.

(Just as we have plans for when Cuba finally falls, for example.)

Crimea was just too strategic to Russia to allow it to fall into western hands. You can argue the merits of that all day long, but it’s a done deal now. That the Southeast would likely follow was clear to anyone paying attention, when this all started.

The bigger globo-econimic game currently in play aside, Russia would have been seriously remiss to not act after the coup, on their border. And it’s clear the vast majority of Russians support the move.

The Saudi’s REALLY want that pipeline through Syria to Europe. I imagine they are pressing Obama hard on this.

They went to Putin directly to try and kill the South Stream Project, and he literally laughed in their faces.

This is language taken from Russian propaganda. It is a lie.

Russian Intelligence likely knew early on what was happening, and made contingencies for action should it happen.

The Russian GRU has been implicated in the murders of a Ukrainian politician, as well as in documents wherein they recommended the use of violence against Maidan protestors to Yanukovich.

It is a lie that the United States or Europe are involved in a massive conspiracy to take over Ukraine with "fascists" to threaten Russia.

The bigger globo-econimic game currently in play aside, Russia would have been seriously remiss to not act after the coup, on their border.

It is a lie that there was any coup. Yanukovich's own party turned on him, as did the rest of the Ukrainian rada. the Interim government is made up of democratically elected members. No one seized power in Kyiv.

That certainly would explain why Ukraine’s policy is so confused and ineffective.

**************

Read this. Truly read this, with care, from top to bottom.

It describes Ukraine’s Rada, or parliament. Its lawmaking body.

“Brawls are not unusual in the Ukrainian parliament. On several occasions work in parliament is blocked by sit-ins by various parties (usually for a couple of days; but in 2008 from 18 January till 6 March and in February 2013 for 17 days. In 2000 and on 4 April 2013 the parliament split into two and held two sessions on two different premises.”

“Next to the 87 political parties 1150 independent candidates took part in the 225 electoral districts.”

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Verkhovna_Rada

Confused and ineffective would be improvements on this chaos.

No it isn’t a civil war. If it was the weak Ukrainian “junta” would have already been easily ejected from eastern Ukraine BY THE PEOPLE.

What we have is not a civil war but astroturfed mayhem courtesy of the Russia. The vast majority of the local population in E. Ukraine do not support their kidnapping and murders. The hostage parades and TV appearance by slovenly “seperatist” stooges only reduce their support. Putin has overplayed his hand and it is starting to catch up with him.

The only way we are running the show is if Putin has told Obama what he wants him to do and when to do it.

In response to the astroturfed mayhem by the US State Department, USAID, and the Omidyar/Soros-funded NGO’s.

Yes, it can only be called a civil war, because this is the textbook definition of one. There are no innocents here, including the wildly corrupt Ukraine. It was two decades of institutionalized corruption that laid the ground for the destabilization today.

Don’t ignore the bigger geopolitics going on, either.

Sorry, no causal relationship.

And the Russians no that. This is more Russian propaganda to deflect attention away form the fact that they are the aggressor nation here who has already acted illegally by annexing parts of Ukraine and now are agitating and using special operations and agents to provoke responses they will attempt to use as a reason to again, act illegally in a sovereign nation.

You should get the Heroine Mother Badge from Russia for your loyalty to that spithole of a country.

??? Do you have a different definition of Civil War than the dictionary does? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civil_war

In poll after poll, East and South Ukraine does not support Russian annexation or federalization. In fact, it was Ukrainians from all over Ukraine who took part in the Maidan. Those who want a Russian take over are a minority. The separatists, therefore, have no support, except for their guns. Secondly, they are organized and directed by the Russian SBU, and backed by Russian elite forces who have trained specifically for these types of "unidentified" operations.

This is an invasion by another country into a sovereign territory.

First I have heard of that, LINK?

"According to classified documents released by former deputy interior minister Hennadiy Moskal, Russian officials served as advisers in how to carry out the operations against protesters. Codenamed "Wave" and "Boomerang," the operations aimed to disperse crowds with the use of snipers and capture the protesters' headquarters in the House of Trade Unions; prior to police defections, the plans included the deployment of 22,000 combined security troops in the city.[75] According to the documents, the former first deputy of the Russian GRU stayed at the Kyiv Hotel and played a major role in the preparations, and was paid by the Security Services of Ukraine.[76] Interior Minister Arseniy Avakov has stated that the conflict was provoked by a 'non-Ukrainian' third party, and that an investigation was ongoing.[77]"

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2014_Ukrainian_revolution

So.. all of that money from Omidyar, Soros, and USAID was for what? All of that Stete department interference, and choosing sides was about what?? Lie to yourself, but don’t try lying to the evidence.

There was no money going to protesters. Not to ethnic Ukrainian protestors, not to ethnic Russian protestors, not to any of the Jewish self-defense brigades, who participated in the Maidan. You have no evidence of any US or EU involvement in sparking the protests.

Coup d’état - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coup_d%27%C3%A9tat

Providing the definition for an actual coup does not support your bigoted claims.

What planet are you from? Was there an election on your planet that we haven’t been told about?

Ukraine is a democratic government with democratically elected members of government. Those same members represent the Interim government of Kiev.

Can you name any of these people under "house arrest" and provide a link other than Alex Jones' website or RT? Gotta give you credit. You just aren’t deterred by facts.

Says the bozo who not too long ago was denying that Russian forces were in Ukraine, but now is trying to justify a Russian invasion upon the basis of "The U.S. is doing it too." Though you sure as hell aren't going to find any U.S. Marines in Kyiv directing assassinations. Only the Russians are working on that one.

NBC also did not tell story from the beginning when american mercenaries from «Greystone Ltd.», (part of «Academi» former «Blackwater») had been sent to Ukraine to take participation in military operation (it was at Apr.7).
20 from them had been detentioned by civilian group of self-defence near town Slaviansk. Every from 20 good guy preferred to disarm and to show own american documents. Nobody knows where they are from that moment. John Brennan’s visit to Kiev bind together with this incident. Likelyhood that all 20 americans have testifyed in Moscow.
