Ted Cruz's Worst Nightmare Is Coming True [Because Obamacare is working according to Politico]
Politico Magazine ^ | 04/23/2014 | RICHARD KIRSCH

Posted on 04/23/2014 2:08:13 PM PDT by SeekAndFind

Last August, as conservatives barnstormed the country seeking to build support for a cockamamie plan to shut down the U.S. federal government unless Congress voted to repeal the Affordable Care Act, Ted Cruz, the Texas Republican senator, said something surprisingly prescient about the president’s signature health-care law. “President Obama wants to get as many Americans addicted to the subsidies because he knows that in modern times, no major entitlement has ever been implemented and then unwound,” he said. The worry, according to Cruz, was that once the ACA went into effect, we’d all be “addicted to the sugar.” Then, it would be too late to roll it back.

Cruz’s nightmare, and the left’s long-held dream, has come true. Finally, after years of failed reform efforts, the U.S. government is actually trying to provide affordable health coverage for all. And it’s working, despite Republicans’ relentless attempts to deep-six the law. As a result, the politics of Obamacare will never be the same.

The right’s biggest fear was never really, as Cruz’s comments revealed, that Obamacare wouldn’t succeed. It was that it would.

Americans, it turns out, have a compelling desire for a basic necessity of life: affordable health coverage. That’s why, despite the HealthCare.gov debacle, and campaigns in red states to discourage enrollment and defund outreach efforts, eight million Americans signed up. Young people ignored tasteless ads and anti-Obamacare campus beer parties, funded by the Koch brothers, to enroll at strong enough rates. Millions more enrolled in Medicaid, even in states that did not expand the program, as awareness of coverage options increased. There is even a big upswing in take-up of employer coverage, despite GOP claims that Obamacare would destroy the employer-based system. The Congressional Budget Office just lowered its estimate of the law’s costs,

The media just doesn’t know how to report on him or on anything truly conservative because they don’t understand it.

They are always off.

Way off. And they know it

I believe 8 million people signed up because there is a law saying they have to....if there was really “...a compelling desire...” then no law would be needed.

I think that the democrats are making a mistake if they think that everyone who signs up is also a supporter.

Politico is as Mark Levin says, a fake news site. Everything there is run through Media Matters

Author is a Roosevelt Institute hack who writes for the Huffy Poast. Such people are accustomed to writing propaganda, not truth. The LORD make his lies come back to haunt him, is all I can say—and that includes the Disqus left-wing propagandists in the comments section.

A rose is a rose, and communism is what is no matter how it’s dressed up.

Suppose that this true? Still doesn’t make it right on principle. There are plenty of things that “work” but still are wrong on principle.

For a “senior fellow”, his article is short on facts (one anecdote) and long on bald assertions and references to the Koch brothers.

The people (except for the REALLY STUPID ones) are seeing this astounding disconnect between what they know (Obamacare Sucks Ass) and what the media is reporting (Obamacare Gently kisses your ass)

The disconnect is more obvious than EVER before and more and more people are starting to understand what we have been saying all along: Democraps Lie and The Media swear to it.

Yeah, Obamacare is working. Sure it is.

Aren’t individuals who signed up for Covered California finding it nearly impossible to find a doctor who will accept it? Yeah, Obamacare is great.....not.
