I go to a forum frequented by UKers, some in fact come here as well. Maybe they can comment. It may be a different kind of Conservatism but I can see similarities. Indeed, I’d say they see things as we do on many issues.
My previous comment, also I know what you mean, there are “pro-life Brits” for example, doesn’t mean they are overall Conservative. A good number of people I have run into in Great Britain are against Same-Sex Unions, and so on. I think there is what you speak of there, not sure it is uniform. I’ve met a few vets in UK as well.
No surprise here. American culture is rooting from the British.
