Forecasters Are Already Predicting a Massive Tornado Outbreak This Weekend

Spring 2014 has been a quiet tornado season thus far, but that's about to change this weekend, if the predicted forecasts that meteorologists are looking at hold true.

Weather experts say conditions are lining up for a series of powerful tornadoes to hit an area ranging between Tennessee and Texas from Saturday through Monday. The National Weather Service predicts a "significant multi-day severe event" in the South plains on Sunday, moving into the Mississippi Valley on Monday.

Used to it? I look forward to it. I have a lawn chair anchored with 5 tons of concrete so I can relax outside with it. I have special tornado lemonade (6 parts vodka, 1 part lemon) for it. I have a lead kite that can only fly if the wind is over 100 miles per hour just for tornado season.

And then the worst damage my property was hit by was from a left over hurricane. :-(

A "LEFT OVER" hurricane? "Ooops," says mother nature, "I got one more in my back pocket!" ???? I didn't know there was such a thing. Wow, bad to WORSERRRRRRR.

Texas Gulf Coast does get tornados but they are small and short lived.
East Texas gets a few that rip up a trailer park or two.
West Texas gets the Kansas/Oklahoma size monsters.
In 1979 a tornado plowed through Wichita Falls with a base that was a mile wide.

This time of year, if cold fronts make it to the Gulf coast, they’ve lost their cool. Our turn comes around August and September.

I have no plans to live in the Midwest. I plan on a cruise down the Mississippi this November and I have flown OVER the midwest, but that's it.

The Midwest and Siberia have weather that has MUCH in common. NO THANKS.

Not much moisture in El Paso to crash with a cold front to generate tornados.

I grew up in the Midwest, cloudmountain, and love it still tho I’ve seen quite of few of those green/grey tornado skies. You don’t want to see that eerie color overhead, and if you do, run for shelter.

As for Siberia, I want to visit the gorgeous mountains in the Altai region. Legend has it, Shangri-La or Shambhalah is located there. Don’t think so, but it is staggeringly beautiful.

It was the remnant of hurricane Ike. I've never seen 60 mph winds for a day under completely clear skies. The trees around here aren't built for that, especially in the summer with leaves on. I'm used to hurricane remnants dropping 3 to 6 inches of rain with 30 mph winds. I was lucky because I only lost one tree which bumped the house (no real damage), one limb from another tree which scratched my car's paint and a refrigerator full of food to throw out because the power was out and I couldn't get ice because nearly everyone's power was out and wanted ice at the same time. Others had it far worse.

I've been to China, up to the Great Wall and such. My husband and I lived in Saudi Arabia, made more money than God, traveled EVERYWHERE and had a fabulous time. 1980-84, five years.

China is WELL worth the trip. It's absolutely filthy, as most of Asia is, but it's very interesting. But, if you take all the pills (some to make you GO and some to stop you up) then you'll be okay. NO pills=sick as a dog, in a country with third world standards of everything.

GEEEZ, others had it far worse? I guess the "Wizard of Oz" depiction of a tornado was fairly true to life!!

So, did you buy a power supply that can be run with gasoline? That's what we had to use here one year.
