An Arkansas judge struck down the states new voter ID law on Thursday, saying it violates the state constitution by adding a requirement that voters must meet before casting a ballot.
Pulaski County Circuit Judge Tim Fox voided the measure in a lawsuit over the way absentee ballots are handled under the law. A separate lawsuit had been filed last week directly challenging the law, which requires voters to show photo identification before casting a ballot.
The law is declared void and unenforceable, Fox wrote in the ruling.

That’s one way to get Pryor the win in Nov. That judge can retire now.
I had to show ID the last time I voted. So no more? I can vote as many times as I can get away with?
Only in districts with lots of Trayvons.
Fox =’s Doosh.
Time to start decorating lampposts.
if we don’t need IDs to vote, why do we need IDs to ride an airplane? drive a car? rent a moped? buy cigarettes?
according to the Constitution, voting is a right of every CITIZEN. therefore, it is required to verify CITIZENSHIP before being allowed to vote.
The blackrobed Tyrant needs a photo to get
into any building, any hospital, and anywhere else.
At least the judge isn't talking about the federal Constitution, the states having never amended the Constitution to prohibit states from prohibiting people who don't show a valid photo ID from voting.
And I don't know what the Arkansas constitution says about this issue so will be waiting for further information.
if the liberals powers that be (at the moment)had their way, blacks would be allowed to vote three times.
And there are still people who think we still live in a “democracy”?
i.e. Years ago, California citizens voted on and passed Propostion 187 which said no taxpayer-provided freebies for illegals. Very popular proposition. Passed easily.
Some political hack appointed to be a judge overturned the Will of the People.
When one man dictates to millions, you are definitely not living in a Democracy.
Making Arkansas safe for democrat voter fraud to continue.
I had forgotten this one until last week,
aroiund here, one needs a valid US photo ID just to sell scrap metal or aluminum cans
and don’t we all miss the good old days when Democrats were in such dire straights as a minority, even with any successful voter fraud,it wasn’t enough to overtake Reagan and both Bush’s.,Nowadays we have deep blue districts reporting their tallys last in a Purple State? anyone smell a few rats?
Gee, I had to pass a test to get a driver's license.
I also had to pass as expensive, multi-day testing process to earn my professional license.
Many activities require an ID.
The ONLY reason to oppose voter ID is the desire to steal elections more easily.
“Facial recognition biometrics” and fingerprints on drivers’ licenses is not enough. We all need to be microchipped to protect our superiors from us.
More seriously, get rid of the insanity and go back to paper records and paper ballots in order to avoid identity theft. “Der twees” are being neglected.
No, The Right to vote Is Not in the Constitution!
I wonder which political party this guy routinely votes for.
Vote early and often.
you must have picture I.D. to get Obamacare....but not to vote????,...this judge is pathetic....at best!
If someone is too poor to get an id, how do they get welfare or food stamps. Can I walk into the local services place tell them my name is barrack Obama (note, I am a 61 year old blond female) and will they just hand me my card for free food? No ID necessary? Do these eternally poor people who cannot afford a license, just get things on their pinkie swear? Can I pinkie swear and get my welfare check for me and my 26 children? None of us have ID, but they are all mine, pinkie swear.
Hell - I just went out and took a peek and found this:
Article 3 mandates that all elections shall be fair and equal. No person shall be denied the right to vote. Any resident citizen over the age of 18 may register and vote. Electors are exempt from arrest while they are traveling to and from elections. Soldiers may not vote on the basis of being stationed in Arkansas, they must establish residency through other means.
It seems like maybe the knee-jerkers are out in force and ever ready to blow smoke w/o looking for facts first. It's getting to be a trait of far too many FReepers these days.
Disclaimer: I didn't search to see if any amendment overrides article 3, but it would be a fair bet that the article stands alone.
