Can a group of passionate mothers defeat the nation’s largest pro-gun institution and persuade elected officials to enact laws that will reduce gun violence and save lives? It’s too early to tell, but this weekend the two groups will come face to face outside the NRA’s annual convention.
On one side of this version of the classic David versus Goliath battle, we have “Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense.” This small, but passionate group is led by Shannon Watts, a 43-year-old mother of five who started the organization via a simple Facebook page after the horrific shooting at the Sandy Hook elementary school in 2012.
On the other side, we have the National Rifle Association—an organization with an annual operating budget of approximately $250 million, 4 million-plus members, and a legion of federal and state elected officials in their corner.
This weekend, the battle will commence when the “Moms” and their allies demonstrate outside the NRA Convention in Indianapolis. Watts explained that this protest will feature “Moms, gun violence survivors, domestic violence prevention advocates, faith leaders, gun owners and other gun safety advocates” speaking out for “sensible reforms to end the gun violence the kills 86 Americans every day.”(continued)

One third of the moms I know have concealed carry permits. Another third are interested. Half of the remainder are very elderly. This is more astroturf.

I took my 2nd required 4 hour course to get my Illinois CCW permit this evening. 10 men and 4 smoking hot chicks were there, including 2 very attractive soccer mom types. These whining wastes of estrogen don’t have a chance.

Considering that probably there will be a small amount of gun violence at the NRA convention, maybe these moms should try out their “sensible reforms to ... end gun violence” at a more appropriate testing ground like, say, Chicago.
More important, we have the Bill of Rights in our corner. Americans aren't about to let this ditzy bunch of idiots take away our freedom.

The Local NBC Station has been playing up the “Scary Armed nutjobs” that are going to be downtown this weekend.

Has the courageous mom spoke to the gross negligence of the state, psychiatrist/psychologist, and sperm donor concerning Lanza’s mental condition?
I have this to say. In nature, the female of the species is at her most dangerous when her children are threatened. She will fight with the last fibre of her being in order to secure the opportunity for her offspring to reach adulthood.
So this brings to mind a few questions.
First, what mother would not want to enhance her capability to defend and protect her offspring? Even a black belt will only go so far. Why don't YOU have a gun? Don't you want to be able to fulfill that role nature has bestowed upon you?
Second, do you support abortion on demand?
I know the issues seem unrelated, but you really can't ballyhoo about child safety and support slaughtering them in the womb, now can you?
It's a big corner.
