A Phoenix woman accused of throwing a shoe at Hillary Rodham Clinton during a speech in Las Vegas remains in federal custody after pleading not guilty to two criminal charges.

Alison Ernst, 36, entered the pleas to misdemeanor counts of trespassing and violence against a person during her arraignment late Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Las Vegas.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Cam Ferenbach then granted the government's request to keep Ernst in federal custody, saying she was a flight risk and danger to the community.

Ferenbach raised concerns about Ernst's residency status and mental health condition.

Yep, they both have Secret Service protection for life, so any crime against them is a federal crime.

The Hildabeast isn’t familiar with shoes flying around her head.

However, apparently she is familiar with bats flying around her head so she immediately asked if it was a bat.

I didn’t know it was against the law to throw your shoe at a cow.

Shoe throwing would be free speech if the target was a member of the GOP. With Hitlerry, it is two to five in a federal penitentiary.

‘Why FEDERAL custody?

Mrs. Clinton does not work for the federal government, nor is she an elected federal official.”

Now, THAT is a very interesting question...OTOH, she IS a former first lady and IMO deserves a lifetime of Secret Service protection for that, no matter what I may think of her personally.

I love this joke: Someone in Europe was on trial for calling a countess a pig in a public forum. The defendant did not deny it. But when sentenced, he asked the judge if it was still legal to call a pig a countess. The judge said that it was. Then the defendant addressed the countess: “I’m sorry, Countess”.

Secret Service protection, yes.

Having an attack on her classified as a federal crime, I say no.

The article mentions the perp's "residency status".

What are we missing here? Where is this woman from...is she an illegal alien from somewhere....why is she considered a "flight risk".....???

It's an obvious question after reading the concerns of the authorities regarding this woman....why didn't the article's author investigate the obvious?

(Rhetorical question, of course).
