BLACK LEADER (Alan Keyes) SAYS NEVADA RANCHER BUNDY'S REMARKS NOT RACIST-It's the Truth
Liberty News ^ | 24 Apr 14 | Bob Unruh

A prominent black leader is coming to the defense of embattled Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy, who was pilloried on Thursday after the New York Times published a quote by him referencing slavery.

“He wasn’t talking so much about black folks, but about the harm and damage that the leftist socialism has done to blacks,” said former U.N. Ambassador Alan Keyes, who also is a columnist for WND.

Ammon Bundy, Cliven Bundy’s son, told WND that the quotes were taken out of context and that his father was commiserating over the poor situation in which blacks find themselves because of oppressive government programs, regulations and practices.

Keyes said that was evident.

“I find it appalling that we basically have a history of the leftist liberalism that wants to extinguish black people by abortion [and] destroying the family structure,” Keyes told WND. “All of these things if you just look at the effects, you would say this was planned by some racist madman to destroy the black community.”

Then when somebody comes along to comment on that damage, the leftists all scream “racism,” he said.

“I think it’s time somebody started to recognize the racism that exists in its effects – the hard leftist ideology using the black community for their sacrificial lamb, for their sick ideology. It’s time we called them what they are,” he said.

“Now it’s racist to point it out.”

As much as I like Alan, he is hardly a ‘Black leader’

It does say about him in the article 'former UN ambassador'. (I think he was actually an assistant, but still....)

They and the ‘freepers’ in name only picked their side. They should be made to live with their freely made choice. Actions have consequences or they don’t.

If less ‘freepers’ kept promoting leftist ideas and leftist candidates, the rest of us could get our crap together. Which is of course they are here. To stop us.

This is just the left switching the focus of an oppressive government agency terrorizing a Nevada rancher for the monetary benefit of Harry Reid, to - he’s a racist. So it’s OK?

I had one of them go after me recently for holding feet to the fire after that very person said that after the last election we would...wait for it... ‘hold feet to the fire’.

Isn’t it funny that when I pointed it out and asked for a set in stone date when it would be acceptable to ‘hold feet to the fire’ that no answer was forthcoming?

Racist or not the guy's basic position about Dirty Harry's personal little land grab is valid.

Well he’s black, ran for office, served an ambassidorial role and speaks publicly on issues. That is a leader. May not be the biggest or best but he is more a black leader than Kanye West who the media often calls a ‘leader’ Or JayZ. Or Sharpton.

“They never were FReepers or Conservatives. They were plants whose purpose was to cause dissension, spread rumors and false information, and agitate. That was their signal to come out.”

Sport, I think you are absolutely correct.

Look, Bundy is not a pundit. He is not a philosopher or a writer. He is a rancher. He was thrust into the limelight and he gave his opinion. He seemed to be comparing welfare to a slavery. And he (maybe ironically) seemed to intimate that at least slavery kept families together. True or not, I think that it is all blow out of proportion. I mean Hillary once called Dick Morris an "FJB". Where's the outrage there ?

Eric Holder wants a frank conversation on race, which seems to be all well and good until you actually have a frank discussion on race.

Look how many supposed rock ribbed right wingers flee in abject terror if the possibility arises that they might lose a TV or break a nail actually having to stand up in public and defend the things they spew here and across the net. You then see them turn on a dime and attack anyone pointing it out and holding them to their words.

Unfortunately the left holds no monopoly on frauds.

I think you’re right about Bundy’s intentions. I don’t think he’s a racist. Just an old timer who hasn’t yet learned politically correct speech.

He’s wrong about slavery keeping families together. It didn’t.

It did provide work, though. Ecclesiastes indicates work is better for a man than no work. Exodus indicates slave work isn’t anything to write home about.

Eric Holder wants a frank conversation on race,

No, he wants a lecture on race.
