Severe Weather Forecast: Outbreak of Severe Storms and Tornadoes Possible Through Early Next Week

An outbreak of severe thunderstorms and tornadoes could occur from this weekend through early next week as a potent storm system slowly pushes east across the nation. Locations from the Plains into the Mississippi Valley, Ohio Valley and parts of the South could see severe weather on one or multiple days.

This widespread threat of severe weather begins Saturday in the Plains. If you are in one of regions affected, be sure you have a plan to get the latest weather information multiple times a day. The specific forecasts for each day are below.

The areas in red have the highest threat of strong/long track tornadoes. This area in red(Moderate Risk) may be upgraded to a High Risk by tomorrow...Your folks should pay careful attention.

Yes...the upper level low pressure over Arizona will be the “kicker” for the severe weather.

They sure worded that wrong! LOL The Storm Prediction Center does outline which large metropolitan centers are in the risk area and how many millions of folks may be affected.

Bad winds last night about 2 am till dawn here in SoCal. Lots of rain too. It was a fast moving storm. Cold here today too.

The first round of heavy rain is here now (Topeka, Kansas the eastern part of the state) The area forecast discussion says the “discreet supercells” will be here in a few hours.
