South Africa on Sunday celebrates the 20th anniversary of its first ever all-race, democratic election that ended decades of sanctioned racial oppression under the apartheid system. The day will be marked by street parades, speeches, prayers, music and military salutes and displays.
President Jacob Zuma leads the main festivities at the Union Buildings, the seat of government in Pretoria, where generations of apartheid leaders penned many of the racial laws that South Africas first black leader Nelson Mandela fought most of his life.
After the historic April 27, 1994, the day has been retained as a holiday and named Freedom Day.
For many South Africans it brings back sweet memories of the euphoria as black, Indian and mixed race voters stood in long meandering lines alongside whites to cast their first ballots.
Nobel peace laureate Desmond Tutu said the day felt like falling in love. FW de Klerk, apartheid South Africas last president, described the day as our proudest moment as South Africans.
But 20 years on, the euphoria has died down and the country is counting both the gains and failures of the democratic era.

Yeah, there’s so much to celebrate, especially the crime rate out of control, the economy in the toilet, the infrastructure disintegrating from age and lack of knowledge to maintain it (since whites are barred from many jobs), the carjackings, the torture and murder of whites, including the few farmers remaining trying to feed the country, rape as a way of life, and an illiterate, superstitious leadership who believe that taking a shower after sex will prevent AIDS. At least, as far as we know, they don’t believe, like some others in Africa, that having sex with a virgin will cure AIDS.
In not too many more years, South Africa will have reverted to nature, only with large crumbling infrastructure. In the Fifties, the Congo was on the way to becoming a modern nation, with paved road, a thriving main town, markets with imported goods, etc. Now it’s reverted back to jungle, has no paved road except the rutted remnants of the main one, which is dangerous to drive, as you will be stopped every few miles to fork over extortion money or goods.
There was a Time magazine article in the Fifties about how the Congo was modernising-now it’s as if nothing ever happened there.
Once South Africa either murders all its whites or makes employment (ads read “no whites need apply”) and puts the financial screws to them, not to mention the corrupt justice system, I see no reason why SA will not revert in the same way unless China comes in to make money, and they don’t play that white guilt game, not when they run over their own people on international teevee in Tianamen Square and make no apologies for it.
No machete slayings?
Apart from apartheid?
Don’t ask the people on the parade floats to throw you a necklace!
Nah, they’ll just “necklace” a few people for old times sake.
20 year validation of that Bell Curve, Think his name was Laffer
Isn’t that the truth!
And don’t forget, Winnie Mandela, “Saint” Mandela’s wife, was behind a lot of those. It’s as if the world were to celebrate and give quasi-sainthood status to Slobodan Milosivec.
That’s a lot, but not nearly enough. Their problems are threefold-too many countries (including the US) won’t give them political asylum, when if political asylum means anything, it surely applies in their case, when SA’s leadership has made pronouncements and sung songs about “Kill The Boer” (which that moron Bono called a mere “folk song). Second, they’re only allowed to take out a minimumj of money. Third, too many are like American whites-they just can’t believe that people they’ve lived and worked alongside for all their lives could mean them any harm-not “their” blacks-their version of “IKAGO”. Even after story after story of black employees, including long-term ones, turning on their employers and killing the entire family, sometimes up to including the dog, and not overlooking the children, like the child who was put into boiling water and drowned.
The US will accept Haitians, immigrants already known to have AIDS, felons (at least, they don’t bother to deport most of them), and Somalis by the planeload. I’m sure Congolese are next on the list-child soldiers and all-just what we need more of in this gang-ridden country.
But white SAs have to move heaven and earth to get accepted into this country, even though they’re law-abiding, intelligent, educated and are known for their amazing work ethic. They’re also in grave danger, as SA’s black leadership does not hesitate to express to the world their instigation to the blacks to murder them.
Anyone who thinks they’re just “joking” how would that go down if a German leader “joked” about killing Jews?

Did they have the ceremonial necklacing?

If anything has come out of the horrible race relations in the US over the last few years, it is the spreading knowledge that many blacks hate whites and do horrible things to them when given a chance. Whites aren’t allowed to talk about it, but their behavior for the most part indicates that they are well aware of the hatred many blacks hold for them.
Good Vid.
Do they then celebrate 20 years of killing whites, running them off the lands, and producing a starving nation because blacks can’t farm and now they are begging whites to return?
The rapist community in particular.

Your entire posting was great and very factual. SAfrica is a declining country and that communist Mandela led the movement.
