Rand Paul up 5 over Clinton in new poll, 'the man to beat in Colorado'

Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky has a 5 percentage point lead in Colorado over Democrat Hillary Clinton in a possible 2016 presidential matchup, according to a new Quinnipiac University poll.

"The road to the White House has many twists and turns, but right now, U.S. Sen. Rand Paul is the man to beat in Colorado," said Tim Malloy, the poll’s assistant director. Colorado is often a swing state; President Barack Obama won it in 2012 with 51.4 percent of the vote.

The Quinnipiac survey, released Thursday, showed Paul, a Republican, up 48 to 43 percent. New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is tied with Clinton at 42 percent. Clinton fares better against other possible Republican challengers. She tops former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, 45 to 40 percent, and beats former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, 45 to 44 percent.

Small government democrat beats large government democrat. I wish we had small government Republicans amongst the leadership. Cruz and Lee can’t do it all by themselves.

Don’t get too excited about Cruz. Like every other potential Republican candidate, he will compromise with the Dems on immigration.

Heritage has Paul as one of the three best conservatives in the Senate. He is rated at 97%, Cruz is 98% and Lee is 100%.

Up until now, Hillary was the man to beat.

The media cannot wait to anoint either Rand Paul or Jeb Bush for the GOP…they don’t want any part of Cruz.

This week: Rand Paul:
Too many whiteys
Obama Care here to stay
Life doesn’t begin at conception

Rand Paul may be the man to beat, but he has dropped way down on my list.
First, I would never vote for someone who runs for two offices at once as he is planning on doing.
Two, He bailed on Clive Bundy without knowing the facts.
Three, Immigration.

How many more strikes should I give him?

Here at the Maine GOP state convention Rand Paul fully endorsed Sen Susan Collins.

And the unified party sang ‘kumbia’ in harmony.

Exactly. Polls this far out are meaningless ... other than seeing which gOp candidate(s) the DNC-run media intends to "use".

I'm not surprised the potheads in Colorado see Rand Paul as their guy.

Collins has no primary opposition. She needs to be reelected so that republicans can retake the senate. Now that Reid has used the nuclear option there’s nothing stopping Obama from appointing a flaming lib to the supreme court. I think he’ll appoint Hillary when it becomes clear that she has no chance to win the presidency.

Look, Rand is not going anywwhere, and the media knows it. They know Jeb is another estab loser - and even if somehow he won, he wouldn’t be damaging to their agenda.

They want no part of Cruz, or for that matter, probably either Pence or Walker either. They are lusting after a Rand/Jeb Bush fight. They want people to decide in their minds that’s what its going to be, period.

Colorado? Does anyone care?

Just one year before the 2008 election it was going to be Giuliani vs. Clinton in nationwide polls.

Two years out is just too much time on their hands.

“Rand is not going anywwhere, and the media knows it”

No, that’s just wishful thinking on your part. Check the polls from 4 years ago and from 8 years ago. They were actually very accurate in predicting the outcome of the election.

Cruz will be a good VP. He is actually in hiding now because his media appearances were driving up his unfavorability ratings. His numbers don’t look very good right now.

The media wants a RINO battle between Jeb and Rand because they know they’re both going to lose to Hillary. They know that the conservative wing of the GOP is ready to bail at any time and don’t you think the MSM will do everything to exacerbate the tension between conservatives and the RINOS? It is amazing that it is going to be our generation that destroys America.

Fortunately or unfortunately, the rest of the country hardly resembles Colorado.
Whole lot of states and the entire media will be up Hillary’s rather enormous posterior.
