McMorris Rodgers says ACA likely to stay

With the news this week that more than 600,000 Washington residents have acquired new health care plans through the state exchange, U.S. Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers said it’s unlikely the Affordable Care Act will be repealed.

“We need to look at reforming the exchanges,” the Eastern Washington Republican said Thursday.

The five-term congresswoman and chair of the House Republican Conference kicked off her re-election campaign this week with visits to Walla Walla, Colville and Spokane. She faces Democratic challenger Joe Pakootas.

McMorris Rodgers has been part of the Republican leadership in the House that has voted multiple times to repeal parts or all of President Barack Obama’s signature health care law. GOP members have said the law is unworkable, will increase costs for some and force others into inadequate coverage or plans they don’t want.

McMorris Rodgers continued those criticisms Thursday, but said the framework established by the law likely will persist and reforms should take place within its structure.

“It is a top-down, one-size-fits-all approach to health care,” she said. Consumers should have more choice for their coverage, and Democrats should abandon the idea that everyone will enroll because of the mandate, McMorris Rodgers added.

The paid off RINO’s don’t want it repealed. They want it *fixed*. This is their gravy train and they don’t want anyone or anything stopping it.

This McMorris-Rogers witch is just another one lining her pockets off of our tax dollars and this debacle known as the *Affordable* healthcare act.

Rodgers is no prophet. When has Congress ever admitted it made a mistake and repealed something like this? It could be killing half the people, but we had it shoved down our throats by the democrats and it’s going to stay no matter what.

How do you reform a system by accepting all the sick, be popular so you cancel all the unpopular taxes and mandates, force no one healthy to pay for it and keep the system running? Sounds like Social Security disaster repeating itself. Only way to keep the system going (benefits but no taxes) is to borrow and spend till the debt is too big to ignore. At that point all the RINO’s and Dems who support the system are long gone before it implodes our national debt.

“Fixing” Obamacre is rather like “restoring” the Chevrolet Corvettes that were sucked into the sinkhole under the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Eight smashed, twisted pieces of junk were pulled up out of the crater, and now there will be an attempt to “restore” the vehicles with substitute parts (essentially a total remanufacture), but attaching the VIN numbers and matching identifiers on the substitute parts. Even if that is done, none would ever be a motor car again, they are forever museum pieces.

It may still be called the “Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 (as amended)” but nobody will be able to recognize what was the original framework.

It would still be totally unaffordable, and lacking even elementary protection for patients. And it will still not be a viable or enforceable piece of legislation.

The ACA is likely to stay and the GOP is going away. I’m sick of RINOs selling us out. As much as I’ve resisted leaving the GOP if they pass this supposed amnesty in August then you know for sure you can put a fork in them because they will be done as a viable political entity. I’m ready to join the new conservative party whatever it may be called. I may not always agree with conservatives on every issue but I know they will put the country first before all else unlike the libs and the RINOS. I’m so frustrated at our country being treated like crap by our politicians.

It was never about healthcare. It’s designed to control the masses while paying off the ruling class.

It will morph into whatever they need it to do/be. It needs a knife through the very heart of it. That’s what ALL Pubbies should be doing....not salvaging it.

It could’ve died it’s own natural death with the atrocious roll out and cancellations/inferior plans/Rx drops, but no....Pubbies once again snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.

I say she is wrong, but many say they haven’t heard the GOP give out any options. It would benefit the party and all the American people if Ryan, Rubio and others began to publicize and educate us about their alternatives to Obamacare. Yes, we need a plan to offer easy coverage, so let’s hear about it now, before the November campaigns become clogged with propaganda. They have the rest of spring and all summer to talk to us.

Regardless that Rep McMorris Rodges swore to protect and defend the Constitution, she is naïvely overlooking that federal Obamacare Democratcare was wrongly established without the required consent of the Constitution's Article V state majority.

But I also believe that taxpayers will ultimately get some kind of government healthcare, if that is what legal majority voters want. However, I don't believe that it will be Democratcare as more and more voters wise up to the fact that bloated, unreadable Democratcare was scandalously established outside the framework of the Constitution.

Congress did repeal the Catastrophic Care Act in the late 1980's. Congress faced the full fury of the Third Rail of American politics: Social Security and Medicare beneficiaries.
