Donald Sterling made donations to Dems
Politico ^ | 4/27/2014 | BURGESS EVERETT

Donald Sterling was a modest donor to several Democratic politicians, long before racist remarks were attributed to the owner of the NBA’s Los Angeles Clippers. Sterling donated a combined of $4,000 to Democratic Sens. Bill Bradley of New Jersey and Patrick Leahy of Vermont as well as then-State Controller Gray Davis of California in the late 1980s and early 1990s, according to a database on OpenSecrets.

WOW and this is coming from Politico..guess they can’t deny it..but Paul Begala tried to, saying that Conservatives should “Check their donor list” once people informed the buffoon that Sterling is a lib who gave money to ONLY Democrat candidates..he changed his tune by saying “Both sides should condemn racism” LOL poor guy, almost feel sorry for the prick

What a misleading article. Everyone knows that racists are all conservative Republicans. The MSM has presented plenty of evidence to back that up.

I’ve seen little clips of what he said but I just listened to the entire conversation. She would drive any man insane. He is a dirtbag but she is certainly no better.

Sometimes I am pleasantly surprised by the brief moment of honesty in the MSM (okay, at least something almost close to the MSM)

Then I know a new day will dawn and once again things will return to normal

I totally agree. And I am beginning to think Sterling has a touch of dementia.

After hearing the recording, he says he loves blacks and a lot of other things you wouldn’t expect a racist to say. TMZ found it necessary to just go with a few quick snippets of what was said.

It may be more that he just doesn’t like Magic Johnson. Who knows for sure but she was intentionally leading him into saying bad things.

He may be scum but so is she and TMZ for the way they ran the story.

If you want to shakedown somebody in this country, just accuse them of racism, works every time.

That would be a good reason for him not wanting Magic anywhere around. Not only that but I wouldn’t be seeing any woman banging an HIV+ man.

Your post #15.

people are so over this rabble rousing.

I am aware and even on Canadian television, I see the barely concealed satisfaction at the momentum. The incredibly destructive power of the politically correct machine is being shown.

If only the average Joe out there could realize what is going on. A man makes stupid unguarded statements in private. An offence might have been committed by recording him. Ok, so far so good. The media and others are moving in for the kill.

It is like the man has committed a crime against humanity. Just a few stupid remarks is all it really is.

Small chance though that the public will not see it for what it is. A machine that has to have a Pavlovian bell rung by some foolish person, who mouths off. It then salivates because it has found a prey. A sledge hammer to kill a fly no less.

Please excuse the rant.

Unless it's against those of the Caucasian persuasion, in which case "they had it coming."

...uh, folks, he was about to win a LIFETIME AWARD from the NAALCP.

He is MORE than a “modest” donor to DemonRATS.

And isn’t it PERFECT timing in God’s Providence to have these two events juxtaposed: Bundy’s comments and Sterling’s comments.

Both were branded RACIST...but only ONE actually fits that accusation.

One the one hand, you have Bundy talking about the behavior and family-deteriorating activities of a group and how it ought to not happen so that the children and the people can be independent and alive.

On the other hand, you have a billionaire not caring about the sexual activities—immoral or otherwise, or the social contact between his girlfriend and “them”...HE JUST DOESN’T WANT TO LOOK AT THEM.

One comes from a point of view of CONCERN. The other comes from blatant bigotry.

If my girlfriend had sexual relations with Magic Johnson, I would freak out because Magic had AIDS, and his current medical status is not known to me

Sterling’s biggest mistake was not making his comments into a rap song. Blacks listen to those names and words on boom box cars all day and enjoy it.

I think the fact that Sterling was a visible contributor to several Democratic election campaigns is one resaon why the NBA owners are reluctant to force him out--it would reflect very badly on the Democratic Party in terms of public relations.

Also, we do not know if the NBA rules allow for a suspension of an owner. MLB has the "best interests of baseball" clause (originally put in due to the infamous Black Sox scandal), which was used to suspend the late Marge Schott from day-to-day operations of the Cincinnati Reds in 1993 and 1996 to 1998. If the NBA rules does include such a clause, it will be invoked and Sterling could be banned from day-to-day operations--including attending all Clippers games--for as much as two years.
