The NBA will likely suspend L.A. Clippers owner over his racist remarks and ‘encourage’ him to sell the team—and it’s not inconceivable the sale will earn him a $988 million profit.
It’s only going to get worse for embattled Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling. On Sunday afternoon, Deadspin released a longer version of everyone’s least-favorite lecherous, reptilian, slumlord billionaire airing his so-called thoughts on race to his (presumably now former) girlfriend, V. Stiviano.
Feel free to listen to more of this poisonous dreck, if you really need to hear how Dodgers outfielder Matt Kemp gets dragged in, some very weird and very wrong ideas about “black Jews,” and, of course, the Holocaust.
Unless the tape in question is somehow proved to be a fabrication of such maliciously doctored skill that it’d make Gennifer Flowers blush, Sterling will receive what has to be the largest fine in National Basketball Association history, be suspended, and then be “encouraged”—à la Marge Schott —to find a nice, non-racist fellow .01 percenter to sell the team to.
But even if the league eventually has this pustulant boil of a man forcibly removed, it’d be perfectly understandable if you were driven to pound nails into the floor with your forehead when you start thinking about the gargantuan pile of ducats that will be his ultimate “punishment.”

I haven’t heard the tape, but from headlines and comments you’d think this guy was worse than Hitler. He said some derogatory things about blacks and Jews? So what? Was he planning to kill them all? That would be one thing, but not liking them? Again: so what? FTR, I have no idea who this guy is and could not care less for basketball.
I honestly read it as Sterling found her hanging around with athletic young studs known for many sexual conquests as embarrassing and humiliating, punctuating that he’s an old fool with a woman he can’t satisfy and control.
He had no problem with her privately seeing these men, even noting he didn’t care if she had sex with them.
She’s more of a decoration for Sterling, in that context.

He doesn’t want the cuckolding to be so public.
Reid is sulking in his office wondering how come he wasn’t involed in deals like this so he could line is pockets with more money. Why does Donald Sterling get to make more money than him, ever though reid is a corrupt crook he never makes money like that and thar’s not fair.
So let me get this straight:
1. A gross, entitled, creepy rich guy got drunk and said crappy/racist things to his entitled, creepy, skank gold-digger “girlfriend.”
2. Creepy, entitled, skanky, gold-digger “girlfriend” taped him, in a creepy, skanky, gold-diggery sort of way in some sort of revenge after he trades her in for a new model.
3. We’re supposed to care?
Sorry, I don’t care. They deserve each other.
He has blacks on his team who are well paid. Whatever his views, it hasn’t appreciably affected the employees the public sees in the court. And that’s what matters.
Because he is in breach of contract. Pro sports Leagues have rules/obligations you must follow to be permitted to own a team. Essentially, it’s a club with a contract. They can get rid of you in many ways for “conduct detrimental”.
Free Speech etc does not apply as this is not a government action.
Looks like a total skank to me, she does.

I can understand the contract issue but do not see how that falls into the conduct arena. But I suppose it all comes down to what is stipulated in that contract.
Reportedly, Sterling had asked her to record their conversations "because he would often forget pieces of conversations and use the tapes to refresh his memory".
I think TMZ might be in trouble, too.

Donald Trump was on F&F this morning, via telephone, and if I understood him correctly, he seemed to imply that Sterling was having cognitive problems associated with his age.
That would be amusing: NBA takes punitive action against Sterling, he slams them back with an ADA suit alleging discrimination based on his age and age-related cognative functions ...
He is entitled to “reasonable accomidations” if he is suffering from cognitive impairment, right?
