Tornado on ground- Tupelo MS

AT 243 PM CDT...TRAINED WEATHER SPOTTERS REPORTED A TORNADO. THIS TORNADO WAS LOCATED NEAR BISSELL...OR NEAR TUPELO...MOVING NORTHEAST AT 50 MPH.

Mountains (and other geographic features) do not offer shelter or protection from tornadoes. At the link is a tornado photographed at Sequoia National Park in 2004, at an elevation of 12,000 feet:

Another confirmed tornado on the ground NW of Jackson, MS. Storm system is moving northeast.

Just ralked to SIL in Tuscaloosa and she has her eye on the cells west of her. She barely got out with her life in 2010.

One of the tornados apparently hit the hospital in Louisville. There are also reports of ‘mass casualties’. They are asking for any registered nurses and MD’s to assist.

Oktibbeha County Hospital (Starkville) has activated their disaster protocols to deal with the incoming injured and those from the hospital in Louisville.

Tornado on the ground near the Nissan plant in Madison county. Possible tornado on the ground headed for Jackson. And other one in Claiborne county.
