The NAACP said today they are still willing to work with Los Angeles Clippers' owner Donald Sterling despite yanking an offer of a lifetime achievement award over an audio tape containing racist comments that Sterling allegedly made.
At a news conference today, NAACP Los Angeles president Leon Jenkins said that an audio recording that surfaced this weekend on TMZ, which purportedly had Sterling's voice recorded making racist comments, was "devastating."
But the organization would be open to talking to Sterling, with whom they've worked for nearly 20 years.
"God teaches us to forgive, and the way I look at it, after a sustained period of proof to the African American community that those words don't reflect his heart, I think there's room for forgiveness. I wouldn't be a Christian if I said there wasn't," Jenkins said.
"We are negotiating with him about giving more moneys to African American students at UCLA, and so we are in preliminary discussions," Jenkins said. He also noted, however, they had not spoken since the scandal broke. . .

What we are seeing is the rise of the Black Nation inside of the USA. This is black nationalism.
The tape was a private discussion between Stirling and his “Girl Friend” about he preference for black men. He told her she could have them in provate but not to bring her spare boy friends to his games or to the team, Stirling was upset with her infidelity , telling her to keep it private. He spoke with emotion, and in rascist terms which were never meant to be public.
Now Stirling is being assassinated by the press, and black nationalist basket ball players are saying the NBA is a “black” league with 84% of the players being black. What if Wayne Gretsky come out and said the NHL was a white league? He would be crucified in the press.
The double standard is amazing and horribly unjust.
Stirling is an old man, a soon to be has been who clearly is not a racist, he has a girl friend who is a person of color.Being upset, he revealed his anger about his GF’s black friends.Hardly cause for crucifying the man. The LA Clippers are done as a team......kaput, not just because of Storling, but because of the press, which is polarizing the
people and ramping up black nationalism one more notch....it WILL eventually lead to civil unrest and perhaps a race war, if it continues.
Old ignorant rascists should not be used to increase polarization between blacks and whites in America.We should be too sophistiated to allow that. And we should have enough class to allow even racists to have their privacy, because if he has none, neither do any of us.

Sterling deserves what’s coming to him. But while he personally despises Negroes, at the same time he’s shoveling millions into their bank accounts. The most rabid, virulent racists are the hucksters in the black community and in politics — Jesse Jackson, All Sharpton, Jeremiah Wright, The New Black Panther Party, The Nation of Islam, Eric Holder, Michelle Obama, Barack Obama. They are far more dangerous than a shriveled up old rich Jew with the Jones for a mixed race whore. When are we going to ostracize them?

And hugh hewitt was doing his whole show on this, he had some black minister on, and I didn’t hear them mention this award once.
Now I’m not saying they didn’t discuss it because I didn’t hear all that much of the show.
But I would like to know why he was getting the award, I had read elsewhere that Sterling was kind of well known as a “bigot” I think was the word used, but it wasn’t clear to me exactly what that meant either.
The guy is slime, but it bothers me to see a person ruined by having a PRIVATE conversation revealed like this.
I read a piece on cuba the other day and the author said the worst thing about cuba was that people don’t even trust their own families.
