New Genetic-Clock Research Challenges Millions of Years
by Nathaniel T. Jeanson, Ph.D. *
Does a 6,000-year-old earth match the findings of modern science? Secular scientists have answered forcefully in the negative for generations. However, their arguments rest on the assumption of constant natural processes and constant rates, and new discoveries from ICRs geneticists present a strong challenge to these claims.
Genetic Clocks
Ticking within every species is a clock of sorts that measures the length of time that a species has existed on the earth. Since DNA is passed on imperfectly from parent to offspring, each generation grows more genetically distant from prior generations. Consequently, with each successive generation reproductively isolated groups within species grow more and more genetically distant from each other.

This does not take into account the expansion of time and space from the creation. About a thousand years ago Rabbi Nachmanides deduced the Big Bang from the Torah. MIT professor Dr. Gerald Schroeder extrapolates from that a remarkable reconciliation of the 6 days of creation and the 14 billion years of geologic time. His book, Genesis and the Big Bang, is fascinating reading.
It’s a great question. I’ve asked it myself.
That sounds fascinating. I shall endeavor to find a copy. Thank you.
IMO, what follows is God beginning to redeem His physical universe. The story of redemption is always a greater story than the story of creation. In this case, creation as we know it was also the beginning of God's redeeming His fallen, physical universe. Pretty cool, huh? All of the above is just my personal opinion.
However, later, we all know what happened. God redeemed something much more valuable than His physical universe: His prized creation, man, redeemed by the blood of His precious Son, Jesus. This redemptive work of Christ for man was much greater than the original creation and redemption of a fallen universe. The subject of the age of the earth and creation is interesting, but doesn't compare to the majesty and eternal value of redemption by the blood of Jesus Christ.

Amen!
The Scriptures say that during the 800 years he had other sons and daughters. Able was born after Eden.
Sorry, I was unclear in the link description. The title of the video is How the Earth Was Made. I added “origins of geology” as a further description of the video. I do think it is well worth the time to view as it is well made and not impossibly technical. In other words, I can follow it. :-}
Not the point of my thesis and I am well aware of when Abel was born. My theory is that the sons named to Adam and Eve were AFTER the fall and eviction from Eden. I believe that Adam and Eve had lots of children while IN Eden. I first came to this conclusion after reading (for the umpteenth time) the punishment of Eve.
He told the woman, "I'll greatly increase the pain of your labor during childbirth. It will be painful for you to bear children." Gen 3:16.
The Lord "incresed" her pain. You cannot increase something that did not exist. He also said that it will be painful for you to bear children, implying that she has done so previously.
This is merely a working theory, but it fits into the narrative of Cain and leaving to find others and eventually marrying one.
I respectfully disagree.
How we think and what we think
has a direct bearing on what we do
and who we are.
This is a timely news article.
Do you think that the American Revolution was divorced from how the Founders thought about the interplay of religion, politics and philosophy?
